My sister says that many Tesla owners where she lives (in Marin) report lots of problems (including mechanical problems) with their Tesla cars.
I hear that it's not unique to Tesla's, but happens to other electric vehicles also (maybe also hybrids?) that the coatings to the electrical wires are soy-based and so are attractive to rats as food. That's happened here in Eugene and in Marin. There is no official Tesla service in Eugene. You have to take the car to Portland to get work done, but at least they can diagnose problems long distance. When my close friend's friend's Tesla stopped working he hooked it up to the shop in Portland who diagnosed the problem as rats had eaten the coating. They had to transport the car to Portland to have it repaired. That seems pretty silly to me, but...

this problem isnt' limited to electric and hybrid cars, gas cars are also full of wiring and rats can lay waste to them . a few years ago i took my car for an oil change and the mechanic showed me a rats nest under the hood, luckily they hadn't done much damage.

What has Musk done to join the MAGA crowd? He quit Trumps advisory board over pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord. He offered a huge payday for the best carbon capture system, which he just named some of the companies that have now been picked.He was a backer of Yang's living wage agenda. He built some of his empire with money from Obama administration. His business reduces dependence on oil, and also is using Solar energy to reduce the strain on the electrical grid. He built a battery storage system to help Australia with an energy problem. His technology is helping Ukraine in keeping internet up and running. I do not know a lot about the guy but I do not understand the connection with Trump that Nancy alluded to in the original post. He appears to understand the world of tomorrow better than our politicians do. Yes he is a businessman that has used tax payers money to advance his personal life, but he did what was allowed.

Self driving 18 wheeler trucks not musk's are already on the road delivering products. The self driving in our tesla is now 100 percent monitored by a camera watching the driver in the car if you even look at your phone they will turn it off and you will be prevented from Turing it back on. Before i can even turn it on you must have a driving monitored score of 98 % Like the Allstate plug in. Self driving is in beta and you have to sign an agreement that you know this and are responsible for complete control not the car. The same technology flies the rockets to the space station after leaving orbit.
