Guy is a little off kilter for sure, but is probably harmless enough. The whole thing is just so ridiculous at this point, don't think it will matter much what the dude is doing, even if he takes over Twitter. That being said, it's more entertaining than the shenanigans of the Robber Barons of the late 1800s.
I don't think so. So many of my neighbors and friends own at least one Tesla vehicle and Tesla solar on their roofs. Out of my price range, but they really love their Teslas, and not just cause they're 'woke liberals' - and definitely some irony in the fact that MAGA - who are now all supportive of Elon don't t buy his electric vehicles. Or maybe they do, but I've ever seen a Trump bumper sticker on a Tesla. Well nothing pro Tump
My sister says that many Tesla owners where she lives (in Marin) report lots of problems (including mechanical problems) with their Tesla cars.
I hear that it's not unique to Tesla's, but happens to other electric vehicles also (maybe also hybrids?) that the coatings to the electrical wires are soy-based and so are attractive to rats as food. That's happened here in Eugene and in Marin. There is no official Tesla service in Eugene. You have to take the car to Portland to get work done, but at least they can diagnose problems long distance. When my close friend's friend's Tesla stopped working he hooked it up to the shop in Portland who diagnosed the problem as rats had eaten the coating. They had to transport the car to Portland to have it repaired. That seems pretty silly to me, but...
Tesla announced it would resume production at it's Shanghai plant on Monday, following 3 weeks of closure due to Covid restrictions imposed by the government,
Doesn't mean that anyones lockdown in the City has ended or will end soon, as Tesla workers will now be locked down at their workplace
>>the coatings to the electrical wires are soy-based and so are attractive to rats as food
this problem isnt' limited to electric and hybrid cars, gas cars are also full of wiring and rats can lay waste to them . a few years ago i took my car for an oil change and the mechanic showed me a rats nest under the hood, luckily they hadn't done much damage.
Quinn, are you saying that wiring in other cars is covered in a soy-based coating? I never heard of that til now. Yes, I may still be stuck in the '60s...

>Tesla, like several other car companies, uses soy-based insulation to protect its wires. As soy is plant-based, it's considered more environmentally friendly than the oil-based insulation that had previously been used in most cars. But it's also apparently considered a delicious snack in the rodent world.
What has Musk done to join the MAGA crowd? He quit Trumps advisory board over pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord. He offered a huge payday for the best carbon capture system, which he just named some of the companies that have now been picked. He was a backer of Yang's living wage agenda. He built some of his empire with money from Obama administration. His business reduces dependence on oil, and also is using Solar energy to reduce the strain on the electrical grid. He built a battery storage system to help Australia with an energy problem. His technology is helping Ukraine in keeping internet up and running. I do not know a lot about the guy but I do not understand the connection with Trump that Nancy alluded to in the original post. He appears to understand the world of tomorrow better than our politicians do. Yes he is a businessman that has used tax payers money to advance his personal life, but he did what was allowed.
With the libtards, especially the Northern California variety, anyone who doesn't align their myopic viewpoints get tossed into the right wing and Trump barrel. It's embarrassing.
As far as I can tell, Musk is apparently willing to open Twitter back up to the former president, MTG, and other kooky right wingers seeking to post misinformation and seditious content. The ironic thing is that Trump publicly stated that he would not go back on Twitter and instead will remain on his own "Truth Social."

>Right-wing populism often allows wealthy, powerful people to defend the status quo while pretending to care about the little guy. Trump, an extremely rich real-estate heir, embodied this phenomenon. One of his main achievements in office was a massive tax cut, which allowed billionaires to pay less than the working class for the first time in U.S. history.
Members of Congress come from a wide range of backgrounds — from local politics to business and entrepreneurship to professional sports — and their fortunes vary greatly. The wealthiest 15 members together had an estimated net worth of at least $1.3 billion, accounting for half of Congress' total estimated wealth.
I'm disappointed in the effort slacker is putting in here, not even a meme of the Clintons. Whataboutism, gaslighting and sealioning troll can do better.
Larry Ellison is another right wing fuckhead. I admit to loving the Indian Wells tennis tournament, but can't stand the guy. this is an article about how he has treated the people of Lanai. Fuck him.
Some of us Zoners were at the show DNB played on Lanai in 2016. The little fishing harbor area was real and sweet, the beach for people like us (not there for Ellison's resorts) was lovely. We were cloistered in those areas. (And the deer population was growing)
For some reason, I am really liking the idea of "money furnaces" in any facilities owned and operated by Musk.
