Never buy it - just keep some EVOO and vinegar around and you're good to go in 5 min.<<<
Even if someone planted a bio weapon in your home that would be released upon you and/or your family within 24 hours unless it was verified that you had bought and consumed a pre-made packaged salad dressing?
We usually try to keep the pantry stocked with a couple bottles each of Trader Joe's Goddess Dressing and Balsamic Vinaigrette. Excellent price and quality.
But as others said, you can't go wrong with homemade and when we ran out of the store bought stuff last month, we have just been making our own and haven't felt the need to go get some from the store. My partner's mom is old school Italian from Philly and would never ever dream of buying salad dressing from the store. She and some of my partner's sisters back east make killer homemade dressings that beat anything you can get at the store.
Marie's or STFU. Altho for actual salads I tend to use EVOO/Wine Vinegar/Parmesan cheez. The Marie's (Ranch &/or Blu Cheez) is for dipping dry rub BBQ chicken wings w/celery & carrot sticks, &/or sandwich/burger topping instead of mayo or mustard.

Newman's Own balsamic. But
Newman's Own balsamic. But honestly haven't had premade dressing in the fridge in a long while.
Rice wine vinegar, evoo, lawrey's seasoned salt, fresh basil and parsley. I'll sub lemon for the vinegar if I have one in the house.

EVOO + sherry or red wine
EVOO + sherry vinegar + dijon + salt + pepper + soak one garlic clove in this mix = classic viniagrette and the dressing I eat 95% of the time.
I'll deviate w/ a good Marie's or Toby's blue cheese or homemade buttermilk or green goddess occasionally.
Dressings are so easy to make if you have a blender tool!
