...What would you be willing to spend on tickets? I'm guessing a real tour with name musicians would have to average around $125 a ticket, more for the best seats and less for rear of house.

I'd spend about $125 GA $200 Reserved to see him with McLaughlin or Carlos. Only if they did a telstar or non-GD cover oriented show. I'm getting older, memory is fleeting, and I don't want goofy reenactments to replace my authentic Grateful Dead memories.

We have little to no ticket fees on Long Island; that includes a Live Nation event.
Concerts are so good on Long Island; the sound at every venue is phenomenal.

The point being: not looking to waive huge mountains of $ in Phil's face. Obviously, he's doing what he wants to do with those he loves; money could never "purchase" what he has now - regardless of what "we" think about it. Is it not kind of an insult to question it at this point?
If he did want to put the Q together or some other ensemble of his choosing, maybe he'd want to play a series of free shows.

Overall I enjoyed the last
Overall I enjoyed the last Phil show I attended (TXR backyard with Molo and Karl Denson in July), but IMO Phil has lost a step or 3 (which is to be expected at his age), so I don't think I would travel any further than TXR, or pay more than around fitty to see him, no matter who he was playing with (and it's a pretty short list of players that would even draw me back to TXR at this point).

The first year or two txr opened I'm sure I went there three times a month minimum because nothing last forever and most people like dessert. But most of the bands now Are Luke warm soup
