If Phil did a tour with "good" musicians;

Forums:

...What would you be willing to spend on tickets? I'm guessing a real tour with name musicians would have to average around $125 a ticket, more for the best seats and less for rear of house.

I'd spend about $125 GA  $200 Reserved to see him with McLaughlin or Carlos. Only if they did a telstar or non-GD cover oriented show. I'm getting older, memory is fleeting, and I don't want goofy reenactments to replace my authentic Grateful Dead memories.

$85 to see Phil with Robin Ford. More if they need..

We have little to no ticket fees on Long Island; that includes a Live Nation event.

Concerts are so good on Long Island; the sound at every venue is phenomenal.

I need music so much right now, its no time to screw around.

what dise said.

i paid $150 for the Q reunion deal...

wasn't worth it for me.

i am paying $200 for the hollywood bowl show but have a nice box + there's willie/sturgill/price on the bill as well.

I mean c'mon WHO doesn't need more of this in their life :)

DAVID NELSON BAND WITH PHIL LESH @ TERRAPIN CROSSROADS 2/16/14 ending of Cumberland Blues

$60 for a Fillmore show.

Phil is never "touring" again. Sorry.

I agree with you, 6. I was more interested in what price point people would pay "if" he went out on the road with more musical fire power.

i’d pay $125 for a pro band that has practiced and is ready to melt faces.

I was more interested in what price point people would pay "if"<<<

$65 out the door with fees via mail order only & non-transferable tix.

The point being:   not looking to waive huge mountains of $ in Phil's face.   Obviously, he's doing what he wants to do with those he loves; money could never "purchase" what he has now - regardless of what "we" think about it.  Is it not kind of an insult to question it at this point?

If he did want to put the Q together or some other ensemble of his choosing, maybe he'd want to play a series of free shows.

I understand, but it should really only matter to the person themselves what he or she would pay. What someone else would pay is pretty much irrelevant.

I'd trade my Jim Rice 1978 baseball card along with a package of Trader Joes gyoza chicken potstickers for a reserved seat within the first 13 rows.

Or we could look at it another way - how far would you travel to see the Q or some equally "good" Phil band?

I wouldn't cross the country at this point in my life, but I would drive to SF (600 m.).

I'd easily make the 16.5 hour drive to see the Q @ TXR if I were free.

Overall I enjoyed the last Phil show I attended (TXR backyard with Molo and Karl Denson in July), but IMO Phil has lost a step or 3 (which is to be expected at his age), so I don't think I would travel any further than TXR, or pay more than around fitty to see him, no matter who he was playing with (and it's a pretty short list of players that would even draw me back to TXR at this point).

LOL

Dunno how well those guys ^^^^^ can play, especially with their obvious back problems, but I hear they're real stoners.

^^those guys would like everyone else these days if they just had a phone in their hand.

150-200 with no scrubs any day of the week.

The prices for the upcoming Cap run are the same prices that Phil used to charge for real bands.  That's still too much for the substandard product he would bring out these days......

but IMO Phil has lost a step or 3<<<

I don't believe he's really lost it, maybe those magical "moments" might be fewer and further between ... but they're still there.

The price of everything went up.

Burritos are $10.

GRubhub or Uber Eats will deliver your burrito giving it the Wow factor.

see him while you can!! none of us are getting any younger......

If Phil did Friends shows (forget a tour its never gonna happen) I'd pay 100 to see it.  Anything but TFB

Why are so many people hiring and using the dishwasher ?

how about the S

the q was a long time ago. ( and yes there is truth to what dank says )

The first year or two txr opened I'm sure I went there three times a month minimum because nothing last forever and most people like dessert. But most of the bands now Are Luke warm soup

anyway chin-up  everybody yesterday was a bad day in history please have a great weekend everyone
