it just dawned on me that I can’t think of any oriental food that incorporates one of God’s greatest gifts to us, cheese.

Many East Asians are lactose intolerant.  That's why its not a big part of their traditional cuisines.  

That being said, the Mongols and Tibetans use a lot of dairy in their diets.

Indian food has paneer, cubed farmers cheese.

In Hong Kong they make baked pork chops covered in cheese. Usually over noodles or fried rice with a goopy sauce topped with melted cheese. It looks sort of like chicken parm.

Netflix has a documentary called "Search for General Tso" about the development of Chinese-American cuisine, which got its start back in the California Gold Rush with migrant Chinese cooks developing new styles of cooking using American ingredients.

Yes, this is true, I've been staring at this thread and that's the immediate thought I had. That Italian seafood in Italy will not be near any cheese.

I tried to pawn this off on the folks I cook for & that hasn't  worked.

So, I changed the brand of the fresh grated Imported Parmesan I use; and it has made all the difference on all my Italian food meals I cook, even on seafood.

NYC has a bunch of taco joints owned by the Chinese.  The cheese is not normal.  Perhaps it’s a cost based observation.   The food is cheap.

Every so often I fry up wonton's filled with a cream cheese mix(garlic, ginger, basil). Those fuckers are tasty dipped in a sambal/soy sauce!   

I also make pizza rolls out of the full egg roll wraps ---- ummmmm!   

I'm not 'oriental' so I guess I'm excused.
