I also just read this: “In Chinese culture, cheese consumption was historically limited to nomadic tribes living on the fringes of society who were generally viewed as outsiders or barbarians. So back then, eating cheese was associated with an unsavory lifestyle.”

and is that true about cheese and opioids? I do really like cheese
Eliminating dairy was the smartest diet change I ever made. That said, I dont eat Chinese food either. Or at least what we pass as Chinese food here in America
Crab Rangoon has been on the menu of the "Polynesian-style" restaurant Trader Vic's in San Francisco since at least 1956. Although the appetizer is allegedly derived from an authentic Burmese recipe, the dish was probably invented in the United States.
In Hong Kong they make baked pork chops covered in cheese. Usually over noodles or fried rice with a goopy sauce topped with melted cheese. It looks sort of like chicken parm.
Netflix has a documentary called "Search for General Tso" about the development of Chinese-American cuisine, which got its start back in the California Gold Rush with migrant Chinese cooks developing new styles of cooking using American ingredients.
>>Did you know the Italians get angry when you put cheese on fish? It’s true. I’ve seen them get very upset about a filet-o-fish.
Yes, this is true, I've been staring at this thread and that's the immediate thought I had. That Italian seafood in Italy will not be near any cheese.
I tried to pawn this off on the folks I cook for & that hasn't worked.
So, I changed the brand of the fresh grated Imported Parmesan I use; and it has made all the difference on all my Italian food meals I cook, even on seafood.
