PHIL Touring in November

Forums:

From link on Facebook:

After years of only playing select venues outside of his own Terrapin Crossroads and Peter Shapiro controlled events/venues like Brooklyn Bown, The Capitol Theater and Lockn Festival, this is a pleasant surprise for his Midwest fans.

He and The Terrapin Family Band will play at the Riveria on November 15 & 16th.

93XRT will have a presale on Ticketfly this Thursday.

The public onsale will be this Friday at 10am.

That's cool...still holding out hope for an Oregon show...how bout hult center or schnitzer in Portland?

How about Horning's Hideout 45 minutes west of Portland, or the Cuthbert Amphi in Eugene, for heaven's sake. Schnitzer probably wouldn't book that type of show. Oregon run....long overdue!

Whoa, either the contract w/ Shappy has been fulfilled or Shappy is buying up more theaters!

^^

Saw W. Panic at Schnitzer  early 2000's.  It was a nice cushy venue.  I think the Phish played there early 90's.  So they've had rock shows in the past.

Changed subject; the man is touring!

oops, thanks Judit. I'm the guilty one. ;)

just hope Phil tours to the PNW!

I hope so, too, LLOLLO. Zooey posting about Nashville changed everything. smiley

Regarding Oregon I had indoor in mind due to this being a nov show...anyways widespread has played the Schnitz several times as well as many other rock acts...including trey with the symphony so yes they would book a Phil show...all the outdoor venues are good choices also

Very exciting news!!

I thought he was done touring

(((((((((( PHIL TOUR ))))))))))

Go where you will, Phil!

Nice!  I'm glad to see Phil sharing the love.

Enjoy!

TFB?

glad he's back at The Riv, lineup wise not so much.

Glad Phil feels like airing it out  a little.

I thought he was done touring <<<<

Man's just following his wyrd.  Glad he's still got it in him.  Please come to the PNW , Phil!

"I thought he was done touring"

He wants to make sure that Graham gets the full "on the road" experience.

"Glad Phil feels like airing it out  a little."

Just wish he'd do it with a band I'll pay money to see.

Kraz will be at all 3 shows

"We're really excited to announce our good friend Eric Krasno as our special guest for our upcoming shows in Chicago (11/15-16 at The Riviera Theatre) and Nashville (11/18 at Exit/In)! Public on-sale for all three shows starts Friday, Oct 6, at 10am CT."

why doesn't phil just get a good guitarist in the band, rather then always bringing on a 3rd guitarist (or even more lol) to compensate for the amateurs he's hired to run the show.

awful.

>>>>>>>why doesn't phil just get a good guitarist in the band,

I'd almost take no guitarist at this point

lemmings on parade nationwide!

First I've heard of all this...

... and Nashville is already sold out.

It's not very often I get to/have to say this:

Looking for 2-3 Nashville tix.

Email in profile.

Hammer, you might also post it in the Ticket folder for more exposure.

nashville only 500 capacity.had to be locked and loaded on that 1

Whether or not you're thrilled over the lineup,  a night out with Phil and ** some band ** is usually a Fun Time,  or at least different than staying home reading National Geographic.  And the crowd is generally delightful,  compared to the ones you get at real-estate seminars or  Beanie Baby auctions.

You have a few drunkards or Cough-Syrup fiends,  but it's a happier batch of Drunks & Syrupists compared to your typical Barry Manilow  crowd.

So that's why I will probably catch the nearby Phil show.

And if they cover "Oh Mandy"  well, that's a Bonus laugh

All true, but at some point one has to consider costs, time spent traveling, general hassles, etc.  In the past, with a great lineup, those were usually minor considerations.  Not with this line up.

 ^

I agree with the 'Cost / Fun' ratio as a realistic guide for attending a show (or not).   This is why I only venture to the Port Chester place if the lineup has great potential.  It is far,  and I must deal with Turnpikes,  Parkways,  GWB's,  all a total Buzzkill.

Manhattan is much easier and civilized in comparison.  Still, about 50 bucks to cover round-trip train fare and parking at train station.

However,  it's not all that bad compared to driving up to PC.

On this fall mini-tour,  I can choose between Camden & Asbury Park;  neither are that far away mile-wise.

Camden has never appealed to me all that much.  It's basically a burned-out ghetto cracktown with a slimy outdoor concrete arena for concerts.

Awesome place for nitrous balloons though...  Plentiful industrial-grade gas.

So I'm left with Asbury Park,  which isn't very far.  The parking is reasonable,  and there are lots of Good places to eat.

^Agreed.

Feeling fortunate that I can see Phil outside with Midnight North for $10 in a little over a week.

BTW: I'll admit being just a little bit bummed that Phil has been playing his Ritter with the red dragon on it over the last few shows that I have attended.  My body aches for his big bombs that come more forcefully from his Alembic or Modulus.  I can't blame him for taking a little weight off of his aging shoulders, though.

Just about anyone with Phil (for the right price) is still worth attending, IMHO.

a lot of dancing around in this thread

it’s either

the I’m too old for this

or I’m too broke for this

smiley

>>>>Hammer, you might also post it in the Ticket folder for more exposure.

Thanks, Judit!

>Just about anyone with Phil (for the right price) is still worth attending, IMHO

Can't say that I agree. A different lineup and I'd go to Asbury Park.

^

And Lumber resides maybe 14 minutes or so from AP.

It's a good 45 minutes + for me,  but so is just about anything.  I'll probably skip WrestleMania and see the AP show.

I like that Mögõ Korean Taco place,  and the Bond St.  dive has cheap Sierra pints.

So when does Phil get back to Europe?

>>And Lumber resides maybe 14 minutes or so from AP

Well, really closer to 30 minutes, but still not far.

I'll also be sporting a surgical boot, foot surgery next Friday.

Still, I'd go if it were a better lineup.

How is um 3 shows considered  Touring ?

phil lesh 2001 and 2002 - in excess of 72 shows both years

Is there any good reason to speculate that Ticketfly might surprise drop tix for these shows, like the drops for Cap shows?

I'm only seeing 19 tix for the Nashville show on Stubhub. Seems like there'd be more.

But a place that small, I suppose they could damn near absorb 500 tix solely thru the band/promoters/family/friends.

Tix for the Exit/In show start at $250 on Stubhub.

Phil can sell out any place that small no matter who he has playing with him.

Gotta be quick on the draw or have deep pockets.

It sucks, but it's the world we live in nowadays...
