Alright, Sixers' fans, what do you think? 23 million for JJ Redick? Sure he fills a need, but 23 million?

They should compete for a playoff spot next year, if their young "stars" can remain healthy. That's a big IF.

It's not tha long of a contract and everyone is getting blown out salaries this time.     I was just thinking how he crashed when he got to the nba yet has come back and made a niche.  I knew many people who thought he'd never make it.   Good for him.    Clearly I chose the wrong career.

Amir Johnson @ $11 million for next year?

Watched jj a lot in Orlando, he can score but who ever he defends will score more.

Zang is right, it is a one year deal, no real risk, and everyone is capping out. I would be more concerned about your young guy being pussies and always on the dl

Sixers still have cap space.

I'm worried about Embiid's knee.

I'd like to say that I have no concerns about Simmons' foot, but a similar injury kept Embiid it for two seasons.

No summer league for either one this year.

Not worried about the money per say, just seems like the Sixers are overpaying.

All ya got to worry about is the Celtics....:)

Celtics still missing a piece or two but they are completely set up for a few years with all their draft picks.  Lot's of questions about IT4's size but I'd be more concerned about his hip.    I do think the Cavs have a year or two before they LBJ really needs a lot more help.   As I said in another post, I'm not sure Carmelo really helps them if they lose Love.

East:  Cavs and Celtics

West: Warriors, Spurs, Houston....OKC and Minn are bubbling.   Both would be better off in the east.

I do think the Spurs can beat the W's if healthy.

Jambone, if the Sixers can make the playoffs, it's a good season, a 4-6 seed is a great season.

Cavs should pick up Monte Ellis they could use his scoring, better than getting Mello imo

Sixers Agree To Deal With Marco Belinelli

Definitely improves their bench.

Process has built them a nice group of young players....still need to bring some finals tested seniority to finish the process.

^JJ Redick has some finials experience, no?

Making the playoffs is a successful season, a 4-6 seed is an excellent season.

The off-season should be interesting.

JJ reddick is not the seniority you want.    IMO he has little cred although he has done 'good enough' after a slow NBA start.   If they could add one legit star and then maybe someone from the spurs (while they begin to crumble) or Ws (as it's only a matter of time before they break up) that would put them at the top of the east.

Of course some burnt toast would also put a team at the top of the east.

I like this move...

After signing Marco Belinelli on Feb. 12, the Sixers are reportedly poised to sign forward Ersan Ilyasova once his buyout with the Hawks is complete...

ROY lock?

Ben Simmons 3rd rookie in history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists

NEW YORK -- Philadelphia 76erspoint guard Ben Simmons recorded his eighth triple-double on Thursday night in a win over the New York Knicks, the second-highest total for a rookie in NBA history.

With 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists against the Knicks, Simmons broke a tie with Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, who had seven triple-doubles as a rookie. Oscar Robertson holds the NBA record with 26 triple-doubles in his rookie season.

Simmons also surpassed 500 total assists for the season in the Sixers' 118-110 win over the Knicks. Simmons, Johnson and Robertson are the only players to have at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in their rookie seasons.

"It's surreal knowing that the game's been played for a long time and so many greats have been through," Simmons said. "I've set a record with Magic and Oscar Robertson, which is surreal to me

^yes

Ben Simmons is the second rookie in NBA history to reach 1,200 points, 600 rebounds, and 600 assists in their first season.

Oscar Robertson is the other (1960-61)

Incredible, Simmons is awesome, some solid talent coming in, i also like Giannis.

78-55 at half vs Cleveland. No Embiid

Simmons 13/11/8/3 steals

Sixers bench 56

Cavs bench 25

Simmons 27/15/13

James 44/11/12

Technically Simmons is in his second year, this roy shit would not play in the nfl

^did not play in a game until this year. Meets the criteria for a rookie in the NBA

Are you sure you're not mad?

Simmons needs to drastically improve his free throw shooting.  This weakness will be exploited come the playoffs.

Mad about sports? Really, just talkin shit

>>Simmons needs to drastically improve his free throw shooting.

Interesting you mention this and Bron Bron was the free throw choker last night.

Simmons shoots 54.7% from the field....55.8% from the foul line

No Embiid,  no Redick tonight vs the Bucks

80-44 Sixers at half

Simmons 0 points

52-30

38-12 over the final 50 games

Tonight

Fultz 13/10/10

Simmons 4/6/7

Fultz is the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple double.

16th consecutive win for Phili, franchise record.

East is looking like a complete toss up.  I have no idea where I'd put my money at this point.
