"Our founding fathers built the Electoral College to safeguard the American people from the dangers of a demagogue and to ensure that the presidency only goes to someone who is, to an eminent degree, endowed with the requisite qualifications,"

Who gives a fuck what these spoiled dipshit celebrities have to say. They should all move to Canada. LOL

It's not what the celebrities have to say, it's what the founding fathers said.

And these same founding fathers have been rolling in their graves watching the demagogue Obama. LOL

>>>Who gives a fuck what these spoiled dipshit celebrities have to say

Actually they should care what the American people had to say, by over 2.8 million votes.

And since we assume some level of intellect, they should be able to observe his actions thus far and his appalling naiveté.

A pompous blowhard reality TV star is president, due to better marketing and interference from a world power who would like to see our demise.

The candidate he beat surely had her faults, and could not overcome the people's lack of confidence, partly fueled by fake news and this foreign power.

And her party is not as in touch with the people as they thought.

The boisterous unknown was a better choice for some. The same people who watch Honey Boo Boo and Duck Dynasty. They get to vote too.

If they can find 38 heroes, one of the most qualified people to ever run for the office would be installed instead.

Fat chance, but it's nice to have dreams, even if only for a few days. Same reason some buy a lottery ticket.

In the unlikely event that the electors that are most likely as partisan as it gets as they are appointed by the respective parties, do not vote for Trump, the charge to determine the President routes to the House of Representatives which is run by the GOP. The easy path is Pence, but there is some talk of Kasich, but I can't see the party allowing that. The GOP wins either way and suspect that they are fine with Pence. Also, some states have laws that make it illegal for the electors to not vote for the individual who won the popular vote in their state so for them, they would face conviction and jail (pretty nice eh?).

Almost embarrassed to be an American and having the blatant rise of phobias and racism on display for the world to see. Ta-Nehisi Coates on The Daily Show:

"If I have to jump six feet for something that you have to jump two feet for - that's how racism works. To be President, Obama had to be scholarly, intelligent, President of the Harvard Law Review, the product of some of our greatest educational institutions, capable of talking to two different worlds. Donald Trump had to be rich and white. That's the difference."

Mark, I thought it only goes to the House if someone does not get 270. If 38 electors changed their votes from Trump to Hillary and all of Hillary's stayed with her, she would be the winner.

Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows? Ain't gonna happen anyway.

That could be.

I'm not a big HRC supporter. If I had my ideal, it would be someone like Michael Bloomberg. I'm certainly a huge anti-Trump which, to be clear, is primarily based on his being ethically, morally and temperamentally unfit for the job in question vs. policy issues (which of course there are always disagreements).

At this stage, I thinki the fight for electors to alter the current outcome should be based on that vs. to give it to HRC. That avoids the "whining, poor loser" approach. While he's not getting credit for it (nothing new to see here), Obama, for his part, is saying that the investigation into the Russian influencing is not a partisan issue and in fact, should not be tied to the election results.

It is such a long shot for anything wild to happen tomorrow, but hey, this whole freaking election cycle has been one incredible longshot so you never know.

What also rankles me is how they have entangled HRC into being an equal partner in the ugly rhetoric and "darkness" of this cycle. Please. If Trump was not part of this process, if it was, Bush v. Clinton, NONE of this darkness (mysogny, bigotry, etc.) would've occured. Speaks volumes to the power the Trump campaign wielded with the Breitbart, InfoWars and Russian influence activities coupled with our own citizens gullibility (being nice by using that word). The world of "fake news" was once constrained to the tabloids found in the rags near the checkout counter in the grocery stores which the majority of discerning citizens acknowledged and knew were bullshit. Now?

If it goes to the House they must choose between the three candidates with the most electoral votes.

On this day in history, December 19th, 1941: WWII - Adolf Hitler takes command of the German army

In a major shake-up of the military high command, Adolf Hitler assumes the position of commander in chief of the German army.

How sickeningly similar.
