Infowars gets White House Press Credentials?

Forums:

Is the GOP completely insane?

Jones, 42, has accused the U.S. government of being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 and the September 11, 2001, attacks. He also claims U.S. Moon landings were faked, and that the government faked the Sandy Hook school shooting using actors.

Your own link says it's not true:

“He is not credentialed for the White House. The White House Press office has not offered him credentials,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told BuzzFeed on Thursday morning.

The only thing in your link that suggests Infowars is getting Press Credentials is Alex Jones who you say is an insane liar.

"getting" = future tense

has not = past tense

is not = present tense.

If Sanders had said "he is not getting", then your statement:  "Your own link says it's not true:" would be true, not false.

OTOH, I tried to convey a sense of the incredibly ridiculous nature of this claim in my original post, I apparently failed to get across the level of my sense of the absurd.

Maybe so, but former Breitbart employees have been brought on to the white house staff...

It’s Breitbart’s White House now: House organ of the alt-right builds a power base in the West Wing

GARY LEGUM

There are already almost too many tragedies to count that have already been set in motion by the nascent Donald Trump administration. But for anyone concerned about the country’s accelerated dash towards right-wing nationalism, the White House staffing up with former employees of far-right propaganda organ Breitbart News has to rank high on the list.

On Monday the White House announced that Breitbart reporter Julia Hahn would join the administration as an aide to her former boss, Steve Bannon, who took a leave from Breitbart last summer to oversee Trump’s campaign and now works in the West Wing as the new president’s chief strategist. Then on Tuesday came the announcement that Sebastian Gorka, who has served as Breitbart’s national security editor since 2014, is also going to work in the White House, most likely in some role on the National Security Council.

Media Matters has a rundown on some of Gorka’s greatest hits. The Fox News contributor has what sane people have long considered fringe views in the mode of noted Islamophobe Frank Gaffney. Among other things, Gorka has pushed the idea that former president Barack Obama was “sympathetic to Islamic terrorists” and blamed incidents like last year’s Orlando nightclub massacre on the “political correctness” that Gorka thinks blinded the last administration to threats from radical Muslims.

Hahn, meanwhile, has spent much of her time at Breitbart chasing House Speaker Paul Ryan and any other Republican who has not shown sufficient fealty to the ravings published by the site’s stable of paranoid and terrified right-wing nationalists, in service to policies like cracking down on immigration and banning Muslims from entering the country. In doing so, she has used the usual buzzwords to viciously denigrate more mainstream Republicans (Eric Cantor is a “discredited globalist”) and once blatantly misstated math from a study to attack Ryan’s position on immigrant quotas. When challenged on her calculations by New York’s Ed Kilgore, she accused him of being an “apologist for female genital mutilation.”

i do think he will get one of the skype seat that they are setting up.

Not an Alex Jones listener, but anyone that believes our Government is 100% innocent regarding 9-11 lacks critical thinking skills.

So  let me get this straight.  You think it should be up to the government to decide what news is real and what is fake?

The White House said it had yet to receive a proper application from Infowars and therefore could not comment on whether it would get one. Mr. Jones said the delay might be related to a bureaucratic snag. “They say it’s going to get rectified,” he said.

(note: this is probably a stunt, not a real credential???)
