Can't These F**kers Take A Holiday Off?

Saw this yesterday but didn't want to post political stuff on Christmas.

The Republican National Committee spent Christmas afternoon defending a press release that many interpreted as the political party deeming President-elect Donald Trump a king.

In a holiday message sent out by the GOP, Reince Priebus, the outgoing RNC Chairman and incoming chief of staff, wished a "Merry Christmas to all!"

"Over two millennia ago, a new hope was born into the world, a Savior who would offer the promise of salvation to all mankind. Just as the three wise men did on that night, this Christmas heralds a time to celebrate the good news of a new King," the message said. "We hope Americans celebrating Christmas today will enjoy a day of festivities and a renewed closeness with family and friends."

The note, however, quickly prompted questions on social media, with many recipients wondering whether the GOP was referring to Trump as the "new King."

RNC communications director Sean Spicer, who is also Trump's incoming press secretary, shot down the questions on Twitter, writing that the message was clearly referring to Jesus.

"Christ is the King. He was born today so we could be saved. Its sad & disappointing you are politicizing such a holy day," Spicer tweeted.

Wait, WHO politicized Christmas by putting this message out?

From Huff Po -

An aghast Iraq war vet responded on Twitter: “A new king? Are you insane?”

“Dear RNC,” wrote an aide to Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R): “We don’t have a king. What the hell is wrong with you people?”

One Twitter user quipped in response that Jesus was an “illegal immigrant, born out of wedlock, no less” so the “GOP wouldn’t know his face.”

Another joked that the statement was about Russian President Vladimir Putin, not Trump.

Last year’s message from Priebus didn’t mention a king. This year’s message urged Americans to remember the less fortunate and to support U.S. troops abroad.

omg. so much lol.....
