Here's our chance, I'm ready to pack up and leave civilization behind.......

For sale: (1) California ghost town

Located in Owens Valley near the town of Lone Pine, the $925,000 property comes with over 300 acres of land, mineral rights, and no shortage of peace and quiet. There are 22 structures on site, including a historic hotel, bunkhouse, saloon, chapel, and museum—plus all of the artifacts that come with it.

Sounds like the perfect place to start a cult.  Religion for fun and profit!

Lone Pine

Interesting town. I went through in 2011. A few unfriendly types- but no big deal.

The Mt Whitney Portal is due west- great views. Also - the road up to the portal goes right through the Alabama Hills- a rocky outcrop where HUNDREDS of  Hollywood films were shot, and tons of commercials. Directly east of town is the former set of Bad Day At Black Rock.

Cool area, been all thru that region...  too bad it's a silver / lead / zinc mine instead of gold, hate processing sulfides!  Then again, think i've got at least 3 old towns on the 34 mining claims my names on, and more cabins than I can count (old stamp mills, etc).

can you get it done by the end of July, please?  I'll be doing a longish solo backpack trip out of Lone Pine and this sounds like a pretty good place to ease me back into civilization.

And if not July please be done by October, November, as that’s when I’ll be by bi monthly throughout the winter.

We will do our best to accommodate all.

Leave civilization behind just when Trump is making great again. Are you kidding me? Sounds like desertion to me.

Whomever is currently in the Presidential seat is a function of the culture, not the other way around.  My feelings about removing myself from contemporary American culture are long standing and predate the results of any recent elections.
