Enjoy! Was too lazy to drive up!

Thanks!

Was my first time at Crystal Bay, audio quality was good, and some of the jams verged on the edge of avant garde, moving up/ down to play entire songs in sharp or flat keys...  I also enjoyed Lake Tahoe's trails, but didn't venture up to the snow like I was hoping to...

A solid show, and great fun to watch the band, especially Pete.

The keyboard player surprised audience with his singing talent.

Song played in dif. key than normal?

or, jam played in a dif. key than body of song?

or, one or more instruments played in a dif. key than the rest of the band?

Napa review?

The Tahoe show was 5/14 (Saturday), 5/15 was Napa. At least that's what I thought...

Was lucky enough to catch Saturday's show at Crystal Bay. The show was pleasantly well-attended (though by no means full), and the band delivered a solid, if not life-changing, show. Second set was really lit. I would have liked to see more of the Hunter-penned tunes from the 90's, but the "Chance in a Million" during the 1st set was fantastic. It seemed a little bit of a "workaday" show for Steve and the band but they did not disappoint, and the crowd was lively.  They even played a "Many Rivers to Cross" encore after a (probably) show-closing "Mercury Blues" ended the second set, to appease the appreciative crowd. Pete Sears was a pleasant surprise, he was great, as always. Great to see him on bass, as his previous outings with these guys had him on keys, as I recall. This band can still deliver; catch them if you can.  I was a late comer to Zero, but after about 20 years, I guess I'm in pretty deep.

There is a new CD of a '92 show from GAMH, it's a double CD that I bought at the show for $20.  Totally worth it!

Hoping to catch them in Portland OR in late July. Same night as P-Funk. Tough call, but I'll likely hit Kimock & co.

Oooof.  Tough call. Last chance to see George, probably.  Not your last chance to see Kimock, probably.

Tough call.

^^^ Surfdead, once I receive the show recordings, made friends with tapers Terri and Greg from PA and for some reason they don't upload to LMA... let's organize a listening session so we can analyze the music....after 1 listen, I'm thinking that the answers to all 3 of your questions is yes.

Here's a link to my Google album for this run:

Hey when you get the tape can you post it up somewhere?

Hey yes

Llollo, so freeze a bit.  28* at night.  Glad you had a fun time at CBC.  Sound is fantastic inside.  Was it crowded?  I'll take a copy too, thx.

hey Andy

i got lucky that the night temps were well above freezing that weekend--as the car doesn't have winter tires right now--but i did have chaîns for unexpected mountain weather.

show wasn't crowded
