Zappa tribute Band Friday

Forums:

Stinkfoot Orchestra, a 14 piece tribute band to Zappa will be at the wow hall in Eugene Friday.  Portland Thursday.  Well worth the ticket.

Even if ya don't go, check out the "about us" section.  Funny descriptions:

Jamison Smeltz:   As a Cardinal freshman he thought his copious chemical intake would protect against dumb laterals and blind referees, but 40 years later the injustice still stands.

Jon Hassan:  While the location of and reason for Jon’s birth are shrouded in mystery, it is known that Jon was raised by a pack of wild peccaries in the northern mountains of Ecuador. The realization that music was his raison d’être coincided with an unfortunate, yet fateful incident involving Jon’s (now infamously) elongated testicular sack and a near-sighted sow with glandular issues.

I'm planning on being at the WOW Hall show on Friday, in need of my annual Zappa fix!

That's my friend's band.

I'm happy to see they're out there and that folks are supporting them.

GO TO THE SMELLY FOOT SHOW!!!!!!

This is a really good band.

I have no idea how it's possible to even make a cent with 14 people in the band, but that's not really my business.

Thing-Fish is the one Zappa album these three guys (Ike willis, napoleon, and Ray white) all appeared on. just fwiw

And ...Napoleon Murphy Brock is playing with them.  So cool.
I'm going to see Napoleon play with the Ed Palermo Big Band at the Iridium this month.  Any NY Zoners going?

Does anyone ever shout out, Shut up and play yer guitar?

West coast gets all the good shows

These guys are great.   Very impressive.   Too bad it's all west coast venues

Side note - Still believe Hot Rats is the best Jam album ever.
