99.5% here in North Portland. With all the anticipated chaos and general Tom Foolery associated with trying to get over to Eastern Oregon, might just skip the madness and enjoy the show from the comfort of my own front yard. Nobody is going into work that day. That being said, I just saw SCI is throwing a festival in Crook County for $450 a pop with tickets still available. Any of you freeks going to that?
Avoid this. Use precautions. If not seeing it in totality, look at it in water reflection or through a pinhole to the back of a box or other safe methods.
In 1970 my first grade teacher was a witch. She had us make a devise out of tin foil to stare at the great eclipse that year.
Mrs. Buckley said only look at the eclipse through this devise or something will happen. The entire class said screw her and stared at the eclipse directly into the sun for few minutes.
5 years ago we had out 30th high school reunion; and most of us (that were there)have a large spot in one eye.
I get 90% at home- could drive up to SNOWVILLE UT along the Idaho border for a couple of percentage points more- but I have a feeling I-15 is going to be crammed at 5 am.
Don't want to get any closer than that ....the traffic / crowds are going to be ridiculous up there.
We're in the swath of totality... having a kegger on a farm, live music, pot luck... good times! So far, the gloom and doom predicted occured on weds / thurs, and this weekend has been dead! No traffic, stores stocked, hotels all booked up here in Corvallis, last room was going for $1,500!!! What a freaking ripoff! They closed down all the mountain roads where folks would normally go to watch, a preemptive strike for the rush that never came!
Looking forward to total darkness, along w/ the Shadow Snakes, Diamond beads, and Bailys beads that only occur in the total darness area! Woot, once in a lifetime, water flowing underground, into the blue again

A buddy in Eugene would possibly like to attend the Kegger you speak of. If that's OK, email me the address and I will let him know. He's headed to Corvallis anyway for a 'better view'.
