Your Pet & 'Ross Dress For Less'...

Forums:

So like Home Despot, Lowe's, Pottery Barn (and of course the Pet Food Stores) Ross is Dog-Friendly.

But what you might not know is that they don't discriminate against other Animals.

I take Hüsky in there often on the way home from Dog Park or wherever. They stay open late and have great deals on certain items. Of course it's hit or miss, as their inventory is castoffs from other dep't stores. But if you find a pair of Adidas or Pumas in your size, the price is right. Garden tools are a great deal too; hoses or loppers. They even have Cat & Dog beds.

Anyway the Hound enjoys going to the shoppes, and it's part of training him on-leash to go left, right or stop: following basic vocal cues. He's been  often enough that the ladies working there are liek, his Groupies. They pet H.I.M. and run through the Dog-Trick routines.

So the other day this one Lady comes up and says "We had a customer complaint about the Dog."  I thought it was odd, as she's a huge fan. So I said "What happened? He's been with me the whole time." She starts cracking up and says "Talk to Donna, head of Security."  OK, I paid for my coffee beans and went over to Donna, and the other Lady comes up.

They both couldn't contain their Mirth. Apparently some guy said "When I saw the Dog I feared for my life!"  But they already knew the Dog, and are aware of his good behavior, friendly disposition and so forth. Then they proceed to explain the corporate policy: "Ross allows all animals in here. You can bring your Monkey. You can Bring your Snake! You can bring a Goat!" All the while they were laughing hysterically. It was a bit surreal.

Finally they say "Your Dog is welcome any time. He is our favorite customer! And if your Horse can fit through the door, S/He is allowed."

"I can bring Deer ??"

"As long as you clean up after them."

Another couple of retail outlets your Dog can visit (I don't know about Monkeys or Iguanas) are 'Harbor Freight' and 'Tractor Supply'.

He did get kicked out of 'Party City' but that's OK as there's candy all over the place, and I don't want H.I.M. eating sugary crap.

So 'Party City' is a no-go.

Good report Stu. Lets do a friendly afternoon pet pic thread on friday.

Have you ever done any rabbit tending, Fog?

I'm promoting "Rhinoceros in the Store" Freedom.

Not Kindergarten-teacher "Oooh, let's have a time-out Kids."

Freedom, freedom.  Freedom is my saviour.

Dress your pet for less.

They do sell little outfits for tiny Dogs, dog shampoo,  dog treats & dog beds. The beds are about 1/2 of petCo price.

Buncha Cat stuff too, nothing for Fish or Gerbils.

Clothes shopping is one my very least favorite activities, but still have to do it from time to time for work, and when I do end up having to go, Ross is on my short list.

Haven't tried bringing my cats, but might next time for moral support.

A fine place to purchase socks & underwear, but the selection of denims or other trousers is pretty thin. Running shoes can be found, pots & pans, sheets or towels.

My main objective is getting the Dog to operate efficiently in public indoor venues with a pleasant demeanour toward strangers.

Whatever happens to me, Dog will easily relocate to a new Family if need be.
