(DALLAS) — American Airlines has apologized to two black professional basketball players who were kicked off a plane in Dallas after a flight attendant accused them of stealing blankets.

Airline spokesman Joshua Freed said Tuesday that Memphis Hustle guard Marquis Teague and forward Trahson Burrell boarded the flight bound for Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sunday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The flight was operated by Envoy Air.

Two first-class passengers gave the players their blankets as they headed to their seats in coach. But a black flight attendant accused them of theft and forced them off the plane.

Freed says an airline manager apologized to the players and that they later flew first class to Sioux Falls.

Chief executive Doug Parker told employees last month that American Airlines will implement implicit-bias training.

I am not sure why you continue to post these topics . Do the airlines affect you personally?

Care to explain?

I am just curious.

>>>>Do the airlines affect you personally?

Chemtrails?

Do the airlines affect you personally?<<<

Yes, when I fly.

However, have made the choice to fly as little as possible since 9/11 ... not as a result of fear of "terrorism", but simply to avoid being subjected to how they generally treat people nowadays.

The first line explained it all

They are black

>>>   how they generally treat people nowadays

1.5 million people fly daily.

Pretty good odds they don't end up in the news.

Because most people have become conditioned to accept the bs as being "normal".

For instance:  just pretend it's 1985 and you walked onto a 737 that was transported back in time from 2017 ... wouldn't you be quite surprised/upset about the (lack of) legroom?

what a boring life to not travel across oceans and see new lands.

Ah, the old African upgrade. Been a while since I've seen this one. You don't get it? The flight attendant was in on the scam. Hustle, indeed

Face posts these topics because he is nuts.

And the same 6 people, who knowingly open the airline threads and take the time to put Face down for starting them, must be Even crazier? Or, are they just being dicks for the sake of it?

I don't mind op's threads, although I liked the restaurant ones better than the airline ones. I eat more than I fly

OP hasn’t flown in the last 16 years but wants to make sure that his negative view of airport travel gleaned from reading the internet is something that you are all well aware of.

As someone who actually still uses airports and flies, because I’m not a loony, let me tell you not to believe his hype. Airline travel is what you make of it and can vary depending on your awareness and ability to follow a few basic rules. That being said, I’m sure it would be hell for OP and it’s probably best for all of us that he sticks to Greyhound.

Speaking of Africans and leg room, the way people bitch and moan about airline travel, you would think they are traveling like this:

I sure miss all those free meals- flying sucks now.

And one's ability to pay through the nose for a reasonable amount of space.

What makes you believe I haven't flown in 16 years?

air travel has trended cheaper over the past 20 years (negative inflation).

The bad news is that the people have spoken, and they have voted for cheap fares and cramped space.

The good news is that you can upgrade your space if you are willing to pay for it.

The fact that the average traveler prefers cattle treatment does not require you to join them.

"...The flight attendant was in on the scam. Hustle, indeed..."

Knew a fellow years ago who had a fine racket w/  Continental workers.  His inside man would tip him off re:  overbooked flights and get him on the reservation list (details are foggy on that part).

Anyway he would rush up to Newark airport,  get bumped,  get vouchers.  He did this many times.  Eventually it didn't work anymore.

Perhaps this is an accurate assessment to an extent; however, what is often overlooked is how "the average traveler" is now paying for most airlines' negligence in so far as not anticipating the need to secure access to the cockpit prior to 9/11.   It shouldn't have been a mystery to them.  How long was El Al doing this?

It was only after the industry went into an economic nosedive did they start the whole "nickel and diming" trajectory to the nth degree.

Perhaps market forces would've ultimately nudged airlines to start piece mealing cost of services anyhow (in the absence of 9/11 aftermath), but it was essentially their "fault" for 9/11 (or at least the way it manifested) ... and they're now making the public pay for their poor decisions to cut costs with respect to security.   Why should we now be forced to subsidize their mistakes by cow towing to their nickel and diming crap?

Let alone be subjected to generalized dictatorial treatment that has strayed from security and safety concerns immediately after 9/11 ... to now improving their bottom line by "keeping order of cargo" in the cabin (re: luggage, seating assignments, etc.) simply as a matter of keeping the low margin model humming along that's stacked to their advantage anyhow (i.e. overbooking)???

>, are they just being dicks for the sake of it?

oh bk your are so cool

oh for dicks sake!

>>>>>by cow towing

>>>And one's ability to pay through the nose for a reasonable amount of space

And there it is, another of the real reasons you don’t want to fly. It’s too expensive. And you’re afraid of hijackers and planes crashing since 9/11.

Lol haha
