Without a Mason-Dixon line, how will civil war manifest itself this time around?

Forums:

I suspect rallies of all stripes will be hot spots for either orchestrated attacks or spur of the moment "flash mobs"; perhaps coordinated by secure/private social media.

But can't help but wonder about drones figuring into the picture.

Civil War?   No thank you.  We already had one and one was enough.

That was pretty wild about those explosive drones trying to land on Maduro.  I like how his security detail whipped out those ballistic shield thingies.

BMW/Toyotas vs. Chevy/Fords

I am with Ken on this one the loss of life and general mayhem would be worse than most could imagine. Most folks would give anything to return to the divided country we have now.

The Maduro thing looked staged to me. Get ready for more crackdowns and power consolidation.

No thank you as well, but can't help but wonder ... since our country seems to be on a collision course with some form of civil unrest.

One could even argue that potential future unrest is a distant remnant of the Civil War ... in so far as how hate and racism have been simmering for many many decades, but has only shown its cloaked face at various moments over the years.   Now that a more tangible "vehicle" has presented itself as a proxy, we may again have to contend with it once again.

I did not see the defensive measures Maduro's security detail utilized.

^ this, but people don't fully realize or appreciate the truth in this ... especially those who feel it's just a game or big argument to "make a liberal melt".

Then again, if Trump beats the rap and slowly but surely ramps up his grip on power while eroding our Constitutional rights, I would not want to live under a new "baseline" status quo that props up criminal activity by our leaders and henchmen at the expense of the rule of law.  IOW, I would do whatever it takes to put an end to any sort of "normal" that we find ourselves in where journalists / activists are getting picked off akin to Russia.

I'm no fan of the trump, but what rights has he eroded?

>>>> but what rights has he eroded?

For starters, that Supreme Court justice he appointed is one of the reasons why collective bargaining just took a big hit in Janus v. AFSCME

Which side will have food? Which side will have money?

The Physically Unfit vs The Mentally Unfit would be a good starter

Who gets the Air Force?

Rich vs poor

I believe the first battles will start on what will be known as "Black Friday",  a day where fallen manners succumb to a post turkeynating apocalypse!

(although being in a dollar tree store last month seemed close)

Just saying, the potential is there; anything that will advance his personal agenda is fair game in his eyes, IMO.

How long can a "serial liar" such as Trump last as POTUS with a free press?

You ever imagine reading this in our country?

New Poll: 43% of Republicans Want to Give Trump the Power to Shut Down Media

"I like how his security detail whipped out those ballistic shield thingies."

I liked how the National Guard ran away.

"Just saying, the potential is there"

And it wasn't with Obama?  I believe he had the Supreme Court overturn more of his executive orders that any other President in history.  You were in favor of the goals of his abuse of power so you didn't mind when he did it, but now that someone whose values you don't share is in that seat you've got your knickers in a bunch about the "potential".?

The left will always be the ones to threaten your Constitutional rights.  You can't have an over weening government that will provide you health care, a living wage, police "hate speech" and all of the other utopian goals of the progressive left without also having a jackboot to enforce it.  It's not Republicans that want to regulate every aspect of your life.

Scratch a leftist, find a totalitarian.  Every time.

Drug testing, a republican thing, goes against the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments (to name a few)

  • Corporate prisons
  • Draconian drug laws
  • The bedroom police, legislating sex acts done privately at ones home (well, in theory anyway)
  • White's only (golf courses, clubs, etc, and the KKK, John Birch Society, etc)
  • Racial profiling (local, federal, and now muslim, except if your country has a trump hotel or resort)
  • Anti separation of church and state...
  • Could go on and on...

<<I believe he had the Supreme Court overturn more of his executive orders that any other President in history>>

A quick search saw the typical echo chamber on this one, (cut to the chase, FALSE!!!), and while you won't agree with this source;

Just a few anti-constitutional aspects of your modern republicans, and a rebuttal to your false claim.

Do you believe anarchy is an acceptable solution?   If not, then at what threshold do acceptable laws / regulations become tyrannical?

Any POTUS in modern history could be dinged with having upped the ante re: more laws / regulations, but the difference between Trump and the rest should be obvious to you.  If it weren't so dangerous with the stakes being so high, it'd actually quite fascinating to observe how many who are otherwise intelligent people are willing to overlook what their inner voice is telling them about the essential nature of Trump's motives.

Everyone looks out for #1, but some do so at the expense of others ... and some to the most extreme.

All interest is self-interest, but for some, self-interest includes the well-being of others.

>>>>someone whose values you don't share

Thom I know you won’t answer this, but, Do Share Values With Donald Trump?
