"Whose street, our street" - St. Louis Police

Forums:

Is it appropriate for riot cops to be chanting that slogan after clearing protesters from the street?  I think it sends the wrong signal.

Yep, not how that's supposed to work.  They're public servants.

I was kind of pissed a cop when speaking to my daughters kindergarten class, whes asked "why do you have a gun" answered "to shoot bad guys".

Oh for fuck's sake

These are very dangerous times in the USA.

It's always been dangerous to live in the USA. There was evil here that the Native Americans battled and it consumed the white settlers to the point of eradicating most of the Native Americans and almost each other in the Civil War.. This evil was here a long time, waiting.

These are the days of live streams and real video.

Our streets were full of drunks this past weekend. Good weather.

St.  Louis is considered a dangerous place in the USA.  The murder rate is very high.  Perhaps among the top Three.

When I saw the Grateful Dead there in 1982,  we heard gunshots a mere few yards away,  and proceeded to leave that area to head over to Kiel Auditorium.

First "Stagger Lee" in a few years.

To clarify,  it was prior to the concert performance.  Us 'kids on tour' were just wandering about the neighborhood before the show,  maybe grabbing a Cold Beer from the corner-store and taking in the Scenery.  The gunfire was within our city block,  judging from the audio.  So we split.

If the St Louis Cops own the street,

they are doing an incredibly poor job when it comes to murder

(need to sort by murder rate....interestingly, Plano, Teas is in the top 5 for property crime...seemsto me to be a sterile, brain-dead evangelical Chtristian enclave).

Time for police to be policed. None of this you police yourselves shit that doesn't work in this country. Civilian police review boards are the answer.
