i dont think anyone here is qualified to have an opinion one way or the other, but it seems doubtful. after hearing that alex jones got arrested for a dui i listened to about half of his 3-4 hour broadcast the next day, and in addition to an absolutley hilarious monolouge about how he's addicted to being an advocate for freedom and claiming he only drank half a bottle of sake, he spent most of the rest of the broadcast going over worst case coronavirus scenarios, and talked alot about how it was a "mutant" man made "bioweapon".

just judging by the fact that jones has been talking about it for weeks id venture to guess its not a man made bioweapon.

I could see Trump purposely allowing it to flourish ... for any number of reasons.  That's what happens when you irrevocably breach the public trust in a material way.

My mind has pondered something out of "24" ... what if terrorists or some other bad player on the world stage has seeded various nations with the base virus & is routinely intercepting/obtaining test samples over time in order to somehow artificially cause it to mutate, then re-releases the new mutation back into the public.  Rinse and repeat.  The general idea being to help the virus to evolve into a superbug by giving it "boosts" in stages.  Of course, it's just my mind wandering ... but in this day & age it could be a card in the deck (however improbable).
