Who really wrote, Searching for the sound?

Forums:

Sure as hell wasn't Phil.

He's the worst trivia partner you could ask for when it comes to GD trivia.

I've found some discrepancies between Jerry's first guitar in Phil's book vs The Long Strange Trip documentary released earlier this summer.

The dreads don't look good on your Knotesau.

I take it your not a book reading kinda zoner?

You've been through all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books?

Someone who understood the comma?

Super burn there, blues.

Seriously, I find the book to now not line up to the documentary.

Just saying.

Phil seems like a fairly literate individual,  and is certainly capable of writing his own book.  I don't have my copy of  'SFTS' handy to see if he credits his editor / ghostwriter / co-author.

When that one was published,  Mr. Lesh was playing more gigs compared to now.  Maybe he didn't have enough time to sit down at the typewriter back then.

Why is there a comma after wrote in the title?

I don’t, know.

Phil told the stories to Robbie Taylor, who wrote them down on index cards. From that point forward, it was easy skating.

No additional authors listed in the book. I think he wrote it himself.

Of course, he had support from his editorial team.

(((his editorial team)))

I'm not saying the book was bad. I personally couldn't read it. I let Phil read it to me.

Book on tape should of come with a warning: Do not listen while driving. May cause sleeping at the wheel & wrecking.

Jill needs to sign Phil up for the voice for the next Plant Earth series as the narrator.

If you use "should of", which means absolutely nothing, instead of "should have", which can be shortened to "should've", you aren't really in a great position to criticize other people's writing

I used to have the Bob and Wendy Weir book, Baru Bay. It came with an audio-tape of Bobby reading the story. It sounded exactly as you’d expect it to sound.

lol should of’d

brian d made me laugh.

Just like the other place, this place seems to have the grammar police in full swing. Nice job!

I didn't finish high school because I was getting my groove on tour. I don't concern myself with these petty things in life such as my spelling on a message board.

When I said who wrote, I should of said who came up with the facts?

4.0 and rising

Folks who concern themselves over grammatical errors in venues such as this amuse me. Pointing them out usually indicates an insecurity with themselves, methinks. Or, more likely, they just aren't educated enough on the subject matter itself so that's what they are left with. Text messages must drive them crazy

Surfdead is the current Chief of the Grammar Police on Viva

Watch your syntax, guys.

I don't believe I flagged any bad grammar on this thread, but thanks for the shout-out/call-out.

Btw, I usually only mention it if it's humorous or if it's actually unclear what was meant.

4.0 and rising?

More like 7.0 and I only rise twice in the morning.

Magical mystery author..... or just Phil? Hmmmm. Tough to figure out.

>>>I didn’t finish high school because.....

that’s always a good one! your basic grammar and spelling skills will be formed well before you dropped out of high school and miraculously one can STILL LEARN THINGS after they have dropped out of high school as well.

Phil might have used a ghost writer for his book but I imagine he could put a few posts together without a selfing.

OP starts a thread bashing someone else's writing, then gets upset about the grammar police?

I only put on my badge in cases such as this

Upset? Funny

((Searching for answers)) not to my poor grammar!

I used to have the Bob and Wendy Weir book, Baru Bay. It came with an audio-tape of Bobby reading the story. It sounded exactly as you’d expect it to sound.<<

Ha.  Yeah.  We had that.  Might still, somewhere.

Fwiw, I considered my post more as leaning towards pointing out irony, rather than being the dreaded GP

>>>>>>More like 7.0

She was talking about your meltdown level not your shoe size.

^ lol

Meltdown? Like the festival?

No matter who wrote it, it was a hugely sanitized recounting of well known events and stories.

>>Meltdown? Like the festival?

The GGG fest caused a few melts.  Do you partake?

i do not properly use capitalization here, but this is a choice.
