Who Has Never Jumped Off a Diving Board into a Pool ?

Forums:

Cannonballs or Flips Extra.

I never saw Jerry in 3D.

My Nigerian office mate.

High dive? Or just the backyard pool?

I've done the high dive, but not backyard.

Do I get extra points for a high dive belly flop???

When I was at the community pool this summer all the kids were chanting 'belly flop' at the few adults willing to dive off the high dive. 47 and no tricks, but still diving off the high dive!

I taught both my step granddaughters how to swim and jump off the board at the local public pool years ago. In February I am going to be a great grampa. Hope I get the privilege in a few more years to do it again.

Back yard pool short boards suck!

Long boards were it's at. Into a lake was cool.

Baseball camp at Clark college. They had 2 hours for lunch. But they had free swimming at the indoor pool with diving boards and high dives for the college meets. PB&J disappeared and my ass was off to the pool.

Started jumping off train bridges into lakes then diving

Jumping off said train bridge Drunk & Naked!

Then higher bridges Highways

Now yearly visits to Rainbow Pools Yosemite waterfall jumping

Shasta maybe!

I look like cousin Eddie up on the diving board during Christmas Vacation.

sad

Used to be to be able to do the one & half flip w twist back in the day. Cannon balls and jack-knife's to boot! Diving only so-so..I mostly flipped over.

Cool, Fark.

Triple Lindy or STFU

Pool Boards

30' ? High Dives (pun intended)

& the cliff @ Rick's in Negril (jumped)

I'll stick to the low boards these days (like viva smiley)

Boards, train tresels , bridges and cliffs at strip mines, Ohio was good for those

head first off high dive takes guts & balls-  better know what you're doing otherwise you'll wake up in the ER.

feet first for me- plugging my snout

In my experience...

Pools are a helluva lot more fun empty than full.

That being said...

Dives, flips, flops and cannonballs are all fun.

From the things you didn't know (or actually really give a shit about) department:

From the age of 5 up until I was a Freshman in College I was a competitive springboard diver (1 meter and 3 meter boards).

By the time I got to college and was coerced into performing complex things like reverse two and halfs and with one and half twists - I bailed due to the painfulness of the learning curve.

But it was fun for years and I'd generally always get psyched for meets and between dives by cranking GD on my walkman...

Cannonballs are overrated. You create a much larger splash, which you can also directionalize, with a well executed seat drop

I have never jumped off a diving board (that I can remember).
