In August, there are statues of Susan B Anthony, Sojourner Truth, and Elizabeth Candy Stanton going up in Central Park recognizing the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment. The sculptor’s name is Meredith Bergman. She did the ones in Boston as well. Phyllis Wheatley and Abigail adams, i think,
Harriet Tubman would have been on the twenty dollar bill this year, but.....
There are Sacagawea statues around here, plus (for whatever reason) a big golden Joan of Arc statue in the middle of a roundabout on Cesar Chavez. There is also a giant statue of a woman holding a trident outside of City Hall called "Portlandia."
...and we can't forget everyone's favorite in Portland...
The Quest, sometimes referred to as Saturday Night at the Y or Three Groins in a Fountain,[1][2] is an outdoor marble sculpture and fountain designed by Count Alexander von Svoboda, located in Portland, Oregon in the United States. The sculpture, carved in Italy from a single 200-ton block of white Pentelic marble quarried in Greece, was commissioned by Georgia-Pacific in 1967 and installed in front of the Standard Insurance Center in 1970. It depicts five nude figures, including three females, one male and one child. According to the artist, the subjects represent man's eternal search for brotherhood and enlightenment.
We counted fewer than 200 statues that depict women — or less than four percent of the 5,575 outdoor sculpture portraits of historical figures identified by the Smithsonian

Hopefully we get a bunch of new statues, ideally commissioned to women sculptors. Or maybe we'll just get roving mobs of outraged statue topplers. Probably a lot of flawed dudes in those 5000 or so slabs of rock.
Always thought this statue was kind of ugly and tasteless, and Johnny was an unabashed Reaganite, and a dick to Joey, so have at it:
Hey ho, let's go
Hey ho, well let's go
Hey ho, let's go
Hey ho, let's go
They're formin' in a straight line
They're goin' through a tight one
The kids are losin' their minds
The Blitzkrieg bop
They're pilin' in the back seat
They generate steam heat
Pulsatin' to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg bop
Hey ho, let's go
Shoot 'em in the back now
What they want? I don't know
They're all reaved up and ready to go
They're formin' in a straight line
They're goin' through a tight one
The kids are losin' their minds
The Blitzkrieg bop
They're pilin' in the back seat
They generate steam heat
Pulsatin' to the back beat
