The whole song just doesn’t really work out. The intro is botched. The rhythm is off. The solo at the end is barely what it could be if they took some time and added some thought. Just doesn’t work it out. Can’t believe they even put it on that album.
Another example is Quincy Jones playing the trumpet. I do think he’s a good musician but just never really did anything memorable on the trumpet. Some lack luster solos on record. Makes sense that he pretty much just gave it up all together.

Can’t say I’m crazy about TTB. Derek playing harmonies with all the horns just doesn’t really work out well. A lot of people will prob get all butt hurt about this but to me it sounds like Derek’s solos all go in one direction. Just kinda gets boring after a while. Perfect band for this great.
I’m a little surprised people know his name. You guys fans or relatives? No offense meant. The guys okay, just a little breathy for my tastes. He’s okay. I mean better than Joan Osborne but that’s not saying much.
