When shit doesn’t work out musically

Forums:

But it was good musicians with good intent.

Derek and the Dominoes- Little Wing

Could you be more specific?

lol

Everyone Orchestra

tedeschi trucks

The whole song just doesn’t really work out. The intro is botched. The rhythm is off. The solo at the end is barely what it could be if they took some time and added some thought. Just doesn’t work it out. Can’t believe they even put it on that album.

Another example is Quincy Jones playing the trumpet. I do think he’s a good musician but just never really did anything memorable on the trumpet. Some lack luster solos on record. Makes sense that he pretty much just gave it up all together.

^Q...Composer, arranger, producer.

That songs sucks almost as much as Layla.

^Agreed. Actually, when it comes to studio production he is about as good as it gets.

Keep on Growing by the TTB is musical perfection.

Maybe talk radio is more your thing.

Dylan & The Dead.

Every band that Keller Williams has ever played with.

we don't all have to agree on every band bluest...

>> talk radio

Lol it's ironic cause this is the only guy I know of who posts NPR shows in the Listening To threads.

TTB is okay when pudgy afro guy isn’t singing.

I had dinner with Mike a month back, he aint pudgy. Now Falcons got a little tire going, but so do I.

I've always laughed at the fact that when playing, the first set often seems to suck, and the 3rd set is ripping!  Listen back on tape, and the first set is tight, everyone's focussed,  by the third set everyone (almost, depending on band) has a good buzz on, and it's slop fest, but fun, lol....

(the studio is evil)

studio is great

It's obviously subjective.

Except GD50.cheeky

brian d and I are cool now (progress).

Don't post to or about me, you bag of dicks.

Thanks.

TTB sucks

slacker, considering Moon Alice is your most seen band I don't think you have a viable point of reference to make that assertion.

i was being nice brian d but it appears you're still jealous.  how's that head of hair of yours doing?

Moonalice is better than TTB when nobody is singing.

Can’t say I’m crazy about TTB. Derek playing harmonies with all the horns just doesn’t really work out well. A lot of people will prob get all butt hurt about this but to me it sounds like Derek’s solos all go in one direction. Just kinda gets boring after a while. Perfect band for this great.

>Moonalice is better than TTB when nobody is singing. <

lol. + free posters.

Mike went to Harvard, who has time for that?

I’m a little surprised people know his name.  You guys fans or relatives?  No offense meant.  The guys okay, just a little breathy for my tastes.  He’s okay.  I mean better than Joan Osborne but that’s not saying much.

The Black Crowes on a bad night. On a good night they were awesome.

I didn’t know there was a pudgy guy who sang in TTB.

DTB/scrapomatic dude

The answer is .... wait for it ... Dead and Company

obviously

I can't stand reading Joan's name let alone thinking about hearing her sing. Oh fuck please no more..........

TTB...........ugh!

I love some Phil. If we are taking Phil's age out of the equation, I would definitely never listen to this shit he passes off as a band ever again.

Really, TFB? Seriouly? Oh those fucking vocals............think Fran Drescher would sound better.

Maybe he’s not pudgy by zoner standards but his face is round as a wheel and he looks like he might be 50% pudding.

Lol. Def has a pudgy style going on. Is that the guy who wrote midnight in Harlem.

I feel like Joan Osborne’s solo career in general is a good example for this thread. She had some hits. Nothing really

that memorable or albums that’ stand out to me. Just kind of went through the motions on some of her stuff.
