What's up with your Saturday?

Forums:

Right now I'm packing some things for a move.  Going to my nephew's 9th birthday party later this afternoon.  He will be nine and aunt Sarah has a few gifts for him.  Thinking about giving him a few vintage comic books (from the stuff I have)  along with the other books I bought for him.  He's also getting a new monster Swiss Army Knife.  What are you doing?

Wishing you the best on your move, birthday party n all

Doubt my brother would approve of this one.

A little work this morning, some painting this afternoon, then a bike ride and dog walk. I smell beer this evening...

Up to the mountains tomorrow for some re-creation.

Maybe drop some Freak Bros. in that gift pack, 4W (wink)

Just got into our room on treasure beach, me and the daughters brought my wife over for her birthday.

they just walked down to the beach, I hung back for a safety meeting, headed down now before it rains

go gators!

Out at the beach, we did all the shopping, funny how much less food we buy with our son away at college, :)

mmm, slept in after an intense work day yesterday.... putting in more time later, working on a short backgrounder to explain Portland's new climate data report.

until then, a morning puff and a lap around the garden. fall has arrived early to Portland.

Ratdog and Disco Biscuits opened

Went to the Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk for RI today.  My daughter's Uncle on her mother's side took his life on Father's Day '17.  A gut wrenching thing to go through.  We've done the walk now a couple times and do a sweet cookout after celebrating the birthdays of both my daughter and her brother which are this week.

Came home from seeing my friends' band play last night and was feeling inspired and wrote a little song and recorded it.  Verse below:

Out of the darkness and into the Light

Out of the darkness- feeling alright

I'm out of the darkness- into the Light

Out of the darkness- not out of sight

Love you, Greg.  Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Harvested Cornelian cherries (in the Dogwood family, Cornus Mas) from the trees I planted after Greg died; I put a handful of his ashes under each tree. There's about 1 1/2 cups of them, I'm planning to brine half of them, using an olive marinade, and will make jam using the other half. Pretty exciting to have enough to actually use them.

Stayed up way too late after my shift (Real Time, fell into the guitar vortex for a few hours, then got some shit done); then slept like rock all day.

Watched the 2nd half of Live From Here (from Town Hall).  Sneak Peak of JRAD on now.

May crack that last bottle of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel brew in the fridge.

Lily's a bit under the weather, so we're chilling, with an eye on tomorrow.

Sounds delicious, Judit.  Never tried a Cornelian cherry, but they look good!

Last night
