I'm a beer philistine, only really enjoying lighter pilsners & lagers. I like Stella but they cheat a couple of swallows in the bottles, not much but enough to annoy me.
I also like Trumer, Modelo and Foster's, and yes I also enjoy Heineken.
I'm not really much of an alcohol drinker. I'm literally a one beer a week guy. Once a week the wife and I go out for a late lunch - we usually call it "linner" - and I order one beer. I only like ambers and porters, so I order whatever decent beer of that ilk that they have on tap, as long as it's not too hoppy. I lke the Boont amber, and when we go to my fav mex place the best they have is Negro Modelo, but it tastes pretty good.
I don't drink alcohol anymore, but I do still like a tasty brew from time to time. The NAs made by Becks and St. Pauli hit the spot for me, as does Guinness' NA, and they add a nitrogen cartridge in the can that makes it super creamy.
our local Pizza Port makes an incredible Imperial Porter: Dusk Til Dawn. It's a local favorite and makes a nice shooter as well. 10%.They routinely win awards with it. 2024 Great American Beer Fest Gold.
i like a pilsner or mex beer for the beach, a simple Modelo (aka Model-O) or the like has it's palce.
still like them fatty IPA's. there are 4 local breweries, each with something good/rotating.
Taco Truck is a good lager that surprised me, but now that it is rainy and getting colder it's time for some Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout. Also went on a little Lindemens Framboise kick earlier this year. Can't go wrong if you stick with the monks. If you like Munich beers Andechs Monastery is right outside the city and does some nice beers https://www.andechs.de/en/
Whenever I go back to the states I always get some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale's, My favorite, since 1989 or so, here in France We have a nice home brewery called the Farlodoise. Chazelles sur Lyon, they brew great beers , noir, ipa, amber, pils, and lots of seasonels, their christmas ale is usually excellent, after work though I'll just have a cold 1664..I like beer
My answer to the thread question is "The one in front of me."
But I like a lot of locally brewed beers, like the "Look Up " amber from Level Crossing and "Rig To Flip" from Fisher Brewing.
Fisher also did this limited edition (I think they're sold out) commemorative brew for the 50th anniversary of the Monkey Wrench Gang by Ed Abbey. Same beer, 6 different cans.
I got to spend a fine afternoon sampling some with an award-winning author who writes about the canyon country she lives in.
Unfortunately, they included one can of the karmicly challenged publisher who's been corpse humping Ed Abbey for decades.
