what if weed worked?

Forums:

On any level for battling covid. To my knowledge no one has ever got lung cancer from weed...its proven to be good for you brain cells and useful for concussions even when smoked.

What if smoking good organic bud coated your lungs with a preventive goo that kept the coronavirus out. Like a preventive puffing for goodness

Merry is gonna make fun of Greg again.  I can just feel it.

Bring it Merry, Bring! It!

Do you think they would try? If it worked there would be thc asthma type inhalers for people of all ages. Imagine a future where the only people not getting sick are the ones smoking kind bud. I have jokingly always said that smoking good weed was the reason I never get sick.

But for real if it could help on any level that would be great

I love merri yo

Blue. .you couldve just addressed me directly . Your ppost kinda reads weird.

Like try...' merri is gonna make fun of you again,  greg' ...

Something like that

I've been thinking that many people who are stuck at home may be smoking a lot more weed.

Then I started thinking, "Wouldn't it be good to keep your respiratory system as healthy as possible to prepare for possible infection?"

How do we know that weed does not improve our respiratory system?

You make a good point about smoking weed, Johnny, but there's also the mental health/wellness/harm-reduction benefits of puffing to consider.

And of course there's always edibles, tinctures, et cetera, but those might not work with g-reg's theory.

But really that s my point johnny.  If you're already sick that is one thing.  No one is smoking while they have pneumonia.  Im talking preventive.  There should be a study not just covid but the flu or other airborne virus. They need to get back to the lab and figure it out if they haven't tested cannabis they should.  Do comparative studies etc. Who knows

And im wondering if they found it worked ...would that get out? Would they keep it from the public?

Good point liddle:)

Johnny D, I am not smoking at all (yes, I really miss smoking it) to protect my vulnerable lungs. I've changed back to tincture that I transferred to coconut oil.

Greg, I was once stupid enough to keep smoking tobacco during a very serious pneumonia (mycoplasma pneumonia, 1977) where I was in bed for 6 weeks. That pneumonia is one of the assaults my lungs have had and that make me more vulnerable for complications of Covid-19.

Highly recommend Wyld brand gummies from Hood River, Oregon -- they have a store locator tool on their website.... lots of different strength formulas available, too.

Are they sweetened, LLOLLO?

Greg,  You come off as kind of a dolt, so I'm gonna pass on taking your advice.  But thanks.

Im glad you made it through judit . My dad was a heavy smoker and before his heart attack he had pneumonia and after 3 weeks sedated on a ventilator they released him to me and was warned not to ever smoke again because of his damaged lungs. I know it was difficult for him

Blues you took my advice and didn't even know it...by addressing me directly.

I'm glad I made it through, too. Looking back, it's hard to admit I smoked tobacco for 15 more years. To paraphrase one of my favorite quotes, I may be smart, but sometimes I don't know anything.

I smoke 2 joints in the morning,
I smoke 2 joints at night,
I smoke 2 joints at the afternoon
It makes me feel all right
I smoke 2 joints in time of peace and 2 in time of war
I smoke 2 joints before I smoke 2 joints, and then i smoke 2 more

ray benson got it.

i don't think this is a valid theory..

Judit! Yes, they are sweetened with fruit puree -- you can't taste the active ingredients.

My fav is the 2:1 (CBD:THC) Peach for a mellow effect -- the berry flavors are all THC and are stronger.

Not worthy of testing , turtle?

I can't do the sweetening, but otherwise sounds good.

Found the ingredient list -- more than just fruit  --

Ingredients:

Tapioca Syrup, Sugar, Water (H20), Peach Juice Concentrate, Gelatin, Natural Flavoring, Coconut Oil, Citric Acid, Cannabis Extract, Sunflower Lecithin.

With that info, really can't do the sweetening. It's a tricky world out there.

Even if they only measure a 1/2" square?

In that case, homemade *is* better!

Sweeteners suck...but are sometimes necessary. ;)

I endorse Wyld Brand gummies.    My only problem is that if I leave them in the car in warm weather, they sort of melt into one big glob.  You can pull them apart, but it makes it hard to measure dosage for times when measuring dosage is advisable.

I am al ittle over a month into a hiatus from all forms of cannabis.  Figured I would clear out the pipes, and I've enjoyed having greater clarity while dealing with the curveballs this pandemic has thrown my way. In an odd sense, at times I feel more high than when I was getting stoned throughout the day.  It's actually helped my productivity as I don't procrastinate as much nor spend as much time daydreaming and navel gazing.  I find it much easier to be fully engaged in the conversations I have.  I've just gotten past the phase of vivid dreaming from the moment I'd fall asleep that was pervasive for the last three weeks.  The last couple of nights it's felt good to just wake up from a long peaceful sleep without the subconscious fireworks.  I'm sure I'll go back to smoking nugs soon enough, but I will try to remind myself that it's not so bad to go without every so often.

I don't think of cannabis as a cure-all.  It certainly has medicinal qualities, but they weren't comprehensive enough to save Bob Marley or  Black Uhuru's Puma Jones from the cancers that ended their lives in their late 30s.  In a couple of weeks I'm scheduled for an excision and biopsy to determine if the cancerous skin cells I had removed in November are gone or if further procedures are necessary.  If I get through that with a good result, I could see doing a little celebrating.

^Wishing you the best results.

Dave, I can identify with what you're talking about.  As a dad, especially during this particular time, I want to be more acutely aware and effectively responsive to my family members (including the cats).

Not necessarily better or worse than being stoned, just following my current muse.

Thanks man.

Agreed, no judgements one way or the other.  Just changing up the strain, so to speak.  Unusual methods for unusual times.

Re: COVID and THC.

We know that tobacco smokers generally fare worst of all as virus sufferers. We also know that tobacco tends to slow down and inactivate the cilia, those little hair-like organs in the lungs whose sweeping action cleans crap out of the lungs.

There has also been research showing that smoking marijuana tends to activate the cilia to be more effective in cleaning out the lungs.

So, you never know...

"As far as you know no one gotten cancer from smoking weed."  Seriously.

 >>>>>>Bob Marley or  Black Uhuru's Puma Jones

They were cia hatchet jobs. Bob would still be with us if not for............

Barry do you know? That's what I have read for years. ..seriously

bump

hahaha hahaha

What if ?

We're living proof.

Good news from Texas. Ray Benson recovered. Maybe there is something to this good weed theory, after all? I'm going too test it out. Cheers!

is there any data on how many admitted pot smokers got it?

Yes Greg: there have been 7 million reported cases of pot smokers who caught COVID.  A blind test showed that those who smoke out of plastic bongs as opposed to glass. Hope those very scientist statistics help.

It's really very one or two.

dave best of luck

Your comments/ observations do make sense

Personally, I Rarely take a hit these days,  and it was a big part of my life till my oldest turned 5 (many years ago)

My family wants me to get high so I might calm down  as I am pretty high energy and always moving, both body and mind - AND perhaps I could be less critical......   that may take some work in my case...

seems like there are lots of pot people on the zone. - more power to them

science and horticulture and art and community benefits...

Thanks for posting the link, Mark.  High hopes.
