What a Doozy........... GD Dicks Picks # 3 5~22~77

Oh that show is no joke. That’s some serious Jerry going on there, all night long. Eyes > Wharf > Terrapin > Dew, whaaaaat??

The Sugaree is one of the best too.

The good 'ol Grateful Dead.

And people ask me why I think the Grateful Dead are the greatest group of all time.

That's why.

And a hundred/s others more.

Long live the Grateful Dead!!!!!!

That ten year stretch from '68 through '77 was epic to say the least. Their place in music history was set. I don't know if what they did after really enhanced their musical legacy too much. The next 18 years certainly enhanced their cultural legacy, but musically I'm just not so sure.

Tonights listening delight!!!  Lovin' the groovieness!!!

May 8, 1977: Grateful Dead's Historic Cornell Concert | Best Classic Bands

this is one of the first live GD recordings i ever remember listening to right after getting into the dead. i can still remember blasting the estimated>eyes out of my van while i was working on the first cannabis farm i ever visited. the only specific recording i can recall listening to prior to this was my friend who got me into the dead putting on 03/29/90 after my first dead show where i really "got it".

Estimated >>> Morning Dew

IMO it's the finest hour of Grateful Dead music ever played

this band at their absolute zenith

Mighty fine listening! thanks, Rob.

Trivia question - What's the name of the movie the Flintstones went to see at the drive-in? I have that DP and it's a dandy.

MAN CALLED FLINTSTONE, THE Movie Poster (1966)

Today I learned that Mel Blanc did the voice for Barney.

Yabba dabba doozy.

Another 77 doozy where Phil says "This is the best day of my life"

Listen to Jerry's vocals on Might as Well!
