What do you think of Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros

pretentious

It's a big band and their thing seems to be that every member is massively into themselves. Like the band is made up of Look At Me's from Burning Man. I don't remember the music being good, either.

or in fewer words, what turtle said

That chick who sings seems like she's continually tripping.

Whether it's magnetic or not, a zero's still a zero.

I prefer Edward Scissorhands

I liked when Alex did this for Tim DeChristopher 10 years ago.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59wa7v012SI&list=RD59wa7v012SI  Captured a lot of the great energy surrounding the protests.

Can't say I'm much into his other stuff.

While I kinda sense this vibe, I can't really speak to this with certainty.

What I do know is that they were big into their Michael Franti-esq shtick; always issuing commands to the audience to "participate".  I refuse to put my hands in the air or whatever else anyone on stage is trying to get me to do (unless it's something along the lines of "take another step back").  So, I was the only person standing when the cult leader in the white robe got nearly everyone to sit down on the ground at the one show I saw in Telluride.   I believe one of the main people in the band grew up in the area (Rico).
