Probably around 58 here at our campsite in the Orkney Islands (and still dusk at 11:15 pm). At least it was actually sunny today. First day without rain since I got to Scotland last Wednesday. I hear it was 100 in PDX this past weekend. Hasn't broken 70 here.
Today the Caterpillers all of a sudden started dying, literally, by the Billions, they cling to the tree trunks until their bodies are consumed by a fungus, if you touch them they disintegrate into green slime like Zombies, it's like War of the Worlds when the Earth bacteria finally do their thing:
