Having flashbacks

I used to live in Needham and good ole Charles Laquidara (Chuck) lived in Dover and would ride his bike in to the station so I would see him, pull up next to him and say hello.  Super nice guy.  My time in Boston was mid 80 through 1998 so WBCN had some good years but then slide down hill, wound up ditching their morning crew and great "Big Mattress" show for Howard Stern sometime in the 1990 and kind of went downhill in my opinion.  They were a true FM and free form pioneer.  Oedipus, Carter Alan, Mark Parenteau were legendary radio DJs.

Sadly, like FM, it became corporate, double shot tuesday, tripple shot thursday and crap like that.  In their day, they were as important as KSAN and WNEW and WMMR in shaping the arc of FM radio.
