I can't help but think that trump and China's president hatched a scheme to bring down North Korea while at Mar-a-Lago last weekend. Kim tests a nuke tomorrow, we hammer him from sea, China moves their 145,000 troops on the border in. Trump gives China the country on the condition that they open the border between north and south.

Trump wouldn't have come up
Trump wouldn't have come up with the plan - the generals would have. There has to have been various contingencies and plans in place for years to take down the Kim family's regime. Trump would be briefed on the plans and have to give it a green light, but I am sure the top brass with the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines have known for a long time exactly how this will all go down.
I also suspect there is movement afoot from within North Korea to replace Kim with a junta that will make quick peace with the USA as soon as the shit hits the fan.

Trump and his family are Plutocrats and our POTUS has surrounded himself with Plutocrats who have been colluding with Putin. Trump isn't sitting alone in his office calling the shots, however his 'advisors' give him the impression that he is indeed calling the shots, and many of these 'shots' are coming from Putin.
