United Airlines: profit over safety?

Forums:

That's what I'm reading between the lines re: story about pilot who announced to passengers before takeoff they'd be "flying through horrific storms including tornadoes."

I believe the pilot was probably "ordered" by a bean counter to "complete the route" (in light of severe weather issues) in order to help the bottom line.

United sucks I hate that airline, but United pilots are union and can't get fired for putting safety first. Pilots have the last say. That said the Pilot was probably pissed he was missing some event in his life.

I will never fly that airline again.
I used to (of course) search for the cheapest airfares out of SFO and UA was usually it - but many bad experiences have led me to conclude that it's worth paying a bit more for an airline that gives a shit, is on time and cares just a smidgen more than this crapfest.

Also - I'd like to appeal to the hold line administrator to swap out Rhapsody in Blue w Rhapsody in Red!

Worst airline by far

They have a new economy fare - can't bring on a bag , can't choose seats (even for parents with children) and other humiliations for saving $20

Done with United
