This is an interesting interview with underground artist William Stout who did the above artwork as a 24-year old and went on to a a storied career in creating art for bootleg LPs. I found it posted on iorr.org, but thought some here might enjoy it too:

Somehow, as a kid in the early 70s, I got a Keep On Truckin' t-shirt, most likely a bootleg. My folks weren't hip to underground comix, so I'm not sure why they got it for me. Perhaps an unintended nudge towards the golden road to unlimited devotion ? I loved that shirt. Nice to be able to order an official one now!
