Try Googling "Beyond Good and Evil"

Sign of the times?

Not sure exactly re: current value, but Google's share of search market has been steadily above 70%.

I've never read the book, but was interested in learning more after seeing the title in a movie (The Exception).

This is just one instance of many re: pop culture obscuring "evergreen content".

is this thread about Nietzsche?

In part, yes.

are you really surprised that a popular video game gets the lions share of search results over a book by nietzsche? thats just the way google works, the more popular stuff comes fist. sign of the times? probably not.

Not surprised, have seen many other instances of pop culture hogging the front page of Google vs. more diversified results lists that delve into various aspects of search terms.

It's also interesting to see how movie "re-makes" often get propped up in a similar way, but it's not as disturbing as the former.

Do you think it's a good thing that rich and meaningful information is getting buried in favor of "what's currently most popular"?

Does this not sort of put an exclamation point on the "dead end cul-de-sac" for the current generation that already has their heads buried in their smartphones?

Is burying your head in a smartphone reading Nietzsche the wrong way of doing it?

FOM discovered Nietzsche from Jim Morrison
