Trump Pulls Obamacare Repeal Bill In Devastating Setback

The president had demanded a vote, but Paul Ryan couldn't deliver the majority the bill needed.

Is He Off To Mar A Lago To Sulk ? I Hope So !

It's easier to unite against a common enemy than it is to cooperate, compromise, and create.

Especially for some types of people.

Next, impeachment

The Republicans had seven years to get their act together on the repeal of Obamacare and failed miserably. Maybe now they'll learn that opposing is not the same as proposing.

Trump's in DC, not Mar a Lago this weekend, Rob.

Where the fuck is SeaDog?

Whoever the fuck decided this had to be done in a month was a stone cold eejit. They needed time to write it AND time to sell it (including vetting changes).   If they have any sense they will huddle up with the moderate GOP and the centrist democrats and try to fix the shit that's wrong with it.  Call it Trumpcare, call it a patch, whatever. Real governing is hard work. Instead, they'll probably just try to sabotage it and complain about it.  And Trump with his "last chance to deal" shit, HA, what a shitty negotiator.

Wash Post reports calls to Congress ran 48 - 1 against.

A brief ray of light.

Zoners are more intelligent than republicans...sad...very sad.

I hate these cunts.

wish I could believe that it's truly 'dead', but I'm sure they'll try and push through something in the dead of night when no ones looking. Shadiest mother fuckers in the country.

lol turtle

Haha!

These guys are so profoundly incompetent. As somebody said above; being professional obstructionists is a hell of a lot different than governing.

Les deportables

But, but, but Obamacare is a disaster! Soaring premiums and deductibles. People losing their doctors. Costing the government billions and billions of dollars and destroying the health care system! How can this be? Should be easy, right? Right!?

LOL

Hats off to the republicans that stood up to the bully and represented the people that voted for them

of course now he will play the blame game. Any tweets yet?  I said it awhile ago, he will have trouble in government because its not like his business. He cant sue the Democrats or not pay people. (yet)

He basically threatened career politicians in his own party. Didn't work.

heres hoping the legislature can make the ACA work for all citizens.

Didn't it tank because of Repubs who wanted it to kill more po' folks?

If you are going to nickname it anything, cal it Ryancare.

And for the grownups in the room:

Still a will be a win for Trump as he will be able to get rid of Ryan!

ie. will no longer owe him for delivering Wisconsin.

Hot off the presses from Huff post. lol

Rusty Trumpbone?

nice, Dice     (Dise)

cmon tweets! cant wait.   "Ryan fails to get own party in line. Useless Freedom Caucus. SAD"

If they had any sense, they'd realize that many of their people who have figured out that the ACA and Obamacare are one in the same, are no longer pushing for repeal and replace. However, since THEY (GOP et al) have made it such a huge deal, they feel that they have to continue the repeal and replace game.

If they had any sense, they'd realize that the plan should be what it should have been from the beginning, work to fix what's wrong with the ACA. It is a function of all pieces of major legislation, they get passed, there's good and not so good, even bad in them. Work to protect the good, make the not so good better and fix the bad. It's really not that hard of a concept.

"Abraham and Isaac a sitting on a fence get right to work if they had any sense, you know the one thing we need is a left hand monkey wrench"

Ok here's what just went down among other things in my opinion...

The reason you couldn't keep your doctor in your employer sponsored plan when the ACA (Obamacare) started was because your plan didn't meet the minimum requirement of coverage mandated by ACA. Gaps in coverage (no hospitalization, mental health or addiction treatment) that lead to financial bankruptcy. Insanely high deductibles and lifetime caps.

When you repeal ACA (Obamacare) that minimum requirement goes bye-bye at a federal level. But that's ok because there is a mechanism called state insurance commisioner who apply's the minimum requirement of coverage on a state level.

Here's were the republicans are trying to get over on us. Selling insurance across state lines so as to skirt the minimum requirement of coverage mandated by state commissioners.

======================================================================================================

https://www.healthcare.gov/glossary/minimum-value/

Minimum value

A standard of minimum coverage that applies to job-based health plans. If your employer’s plan meets this standard and is considered “affordable,” you won’t be eligible for a premium tax credit if you buy a Marketplace insurance plan instead.

A health plan meets the minimum value standard if both of these apply:

It’s designed to pay at least 60% of the total cost of medical services for a standard population

Its benefits include substantial coverage of physician and inpatient hospital services

To find out if your job-based plan meets the minimum value standard, ask your employer. You can also ask them to fill out the Employer Coverage Tool (PDF).

You people should have been cheering this monstrosity on. If it had passed the Republicans would have been stuck with an unworkable disaster hung around their necks, the Democrats could have made sure that the second and third parts were never passed (ensuring its failure), and they would have stood a very good chance of taking back Congress in two years by blaming the Republicans (rightly) for the mess that they had created. That won't be happening now, and there's a good chance that the House will now pass a bill loaded up with everything that the conservative wing of the party wants that will then be rejected by the Democrats in the Senate thereby removing all blame for any changes from the Republicans ("We tried but the Democratic Senators wouldn't help").  A Pyrrhic victory at best, and we're still stuck with a system that is collapsing so badly that one third of all counties in the U.S. offer only one option via ObamaCare due to insurance companies abandoning the system.

> You people should have been cheering this monstrosity on. If it had passed the Republicans would have been stuck with an unworkable disaster hung around their necks, the Democrats could have

A Thom Trifecta. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, with a You People thrown in for good measure.

Sorry, Thom. Unlike the Republicans, Democrats aren't willing to let millions of lives be ruined for a chance at increasing their power in DC.

>>>> You people should have been cheering this monstrosity on. If it had passed the Republicans would have been stuck with an unworkable disaster hung around their necks...

Root for something that might possibly hurt millions of people so you can rub the other guys nose in it?

Republifucks are the party of "Break Shit" then turn around and blame Dems for it being broken...

Lil Marco helped remove the risk corridors in the ACA/Obama Care. Which caused insurance premiums to go up and insurance companies to pull out of the exchange. In addition, the Medicaid expansion was not mandatory. Therefore Republican Governors across the country chose not to expand. Which hurt states by insurers not participating.

Watch the Repuggies try to hurt ACA even more so they can keep using it as a punching bag....I understand that HHS secretart Price can seriously fuck it over.

On the other hand, at least we now know - as an established fact - that the GOP lied and lied and lied for the  past seven years, claiming they had a better plan.

I'd def. take The Dead over Trumpcare.

Even with Warren.

Thom's people had:

7 years to have a plan ready.

Instead...

17 actual days of working on it.

With 17% Public Support.

Thom, Can you pass a bill with ONLY 17% Public Support?

What's that say about your party??

It's Thom's party and he'll cry if he wants to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsYJyVEUaC4

And now it's Ryan's turn to cry...

Meaning:

"An annoying burden: “That old car is an albatross around my neck.” Literally, an albatross is a large sea bird. The phrase alludes to Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” in which a sailor who shoots a friendly albatross is forced to wear its carcass around his neck as punishment."

'Republicans Land a Punch on Health Care, to Their Own Face'

House GOP voted 60 times to repeal Obamacare when Obama was president.

They voted 0 times under Trump, and are now ready to move on.

^^^^^Bunch of whiny little bitches.

The whole repel and replace is just a bunch of racist talk to take Obama's name off of it. All that needs to be done is make it better, and leave the credit where it belongs

Why is there no talk of applying the tax money generated from booze, cigs, and weed applied directly to offset healthcare costs? I would also reccomend adding a tax on soda too. Those are the big contributors to bad health

If I were Thom, I'd go ahead and gas up the Saab, put on my favorite episode of Rush Limbaugh, and drive straight off the nearest cliff.

A fiery death is surely better than being associated with the Republican party at this stage in the game.

buncha haters up in this bitch

Barzini is dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia. Moe Greene. Stracci. Cuneo. Today I settled all family business so don't tell me that you're innocent. Admit what you did..

>>>Democrats aren't willing to let millions of lives be ruined for a chance at increasing their power in DC.

So cute.

Would Black Peter be considered Trumpcare Dead?
