This book claims, like all intelligence agencies do, the Russians pegged Trump as a asset many (40) years ago. His first wife was probably an "agent" of some sort (I use that term loosely).
I wouldn't doubt that Melania was reporting back something to someone, either.

I don't know, this whole thing seems as silly as the Swalwell thing. I'm sure that people of power and wealth get approached by foreign agents all the time. It doesn't always mean that they are compromised, or have become assets.
Personally, I don't think that Trump was ever "compromised" by the Soviets or the Russians. He's just a whore who will sell out to whoever he feels will offer him the most benefit. In doing so he compromises himself and does stupid shit. In short, Trump wasn't compromised by Putin, he compromised himself for personal gain. He was a big, surprise birthday present in the lap of the Kremlin. Who else has he compromised himself to?

Trump being a Russian asset is the only logical explanation for the last 5 years. Why would the President cut off funding to public pandemic research and prevention and then shutter the office that handles such emergencies?
We know Putin offered a bounty on our troops, who's to say the same offer wasn't extended for the deaths of American citizens. We are now over 400,00 lives lost. It doesn't make sense to me why Trump just let us die like that, unless he really is a Russian asset.

Agreed. It's the most cohesive lens by which explains the majority of his actions.
Having said that, I don't know the extent or particulars, but can only imagine that once some kompromat is leveraged, it just piles up over time from there. I wouldn't be surprised if he received instructions from Putin in private meetings or if he had a secure Sat phone or some other way to maintain more constant contact. By the same token, it could've also been more of a wink and nod "I'll keep scratching your back if you lay off of mine" sort of thing. Or anywhere in between.
Helsinki was the first major red flag.

Many of us can remember that before the Berlin Wall was breached, Eastern Europe was an extension of the Soviet Union. Czechoslovakia was nothing like it is today.
