Any one have expiriences with this brand?

Comments/opinions are appreciated.

Opinion: They're a stupid waste of space. Why occupy your whole roof for something that can fit in a stuff sack? Plus, and this is the important part, old people like us need to pee in the middle of the night. And, when I'm camping I'm drinking beer...a lot of beer.

Sorry Ned, I don't understand either of your reasons why these are stupid.  Occupy the roof?   What does this truck bed tent have to do with the roof?  Need to get up and pee?  How does this tent cause a problem with that?

Hi Sunlite!

My statement is more towards all of the roof-top tents I see these days. I didn't click the link...my bad.

Seems like a decent deal for less than $200. You taking your pup with you? Claws on the nylon floor might not work too well.

may scratch up paint if windy..

I pull a tear drop camper that weighs less then 700lbs empty that way my canoes/kayaks/guide boats can be carried on the truck cap roof. Plus I have a queen size pillow top mattress in the tear drop which is a plus on the road

Looks like a pain to set up frankly, but I guess it makes sense if you are camped in a pull off or at festival parking lot without much space to set up a conventional tent.   How about a camper shell or topper for the truck?    I used to have a pickup with a topper and would put a bed in the back for camping.  Worked fine.

Ned, my Gatorade bottle is one of my favorite camping accessories. Get the big one.

Wider mouth (for larger peckers like mine - LOL) and it could be used twice in a night possibly as it takes a lot to fill it up. Also less chance not tilting it enough, which could result in spillage on your bag.

I don't think I'd go with something like this. A tent or a shell (topper). Getting a regular tent for about the same money may be more versatile.

And if you're camping near bears, where will you store the food? In the truck? Guess who's getting a visit?

My best rig was a fiberglass shell on my long bed Toyota with a blow up mattress. DAMN I miss that truck.

Thanks for th insight and responces.

I ordered from the link.  I figured it's a budget purchase that will suffice  for now and will get me by for the summer getaways this year.

Not taking my mutt, Mike.  I am planning a short getaway this month to Crowley's Ridge Arkansas to visit an old  friend that has some land with three farm tanks stocked.

Probably won't drink much. *Mushrooms * .

Fish for dinner.

If I get three or four getaways I figure I get my money's worth .

Zoners are the best.

Thx.

Mine had extended cab and a six foot bed (and hubcaps and no rust). Took that thing to most of the hotsprings in CA. Built a carpeted box in the back. Always dry, warm, and comfortable. DAMN I miss that truck.

Bought it in 93 in San Francisco at about 5 pm and hauled ass from the dealer to a Shoreline show. We were late, so I moved some cones and parked right in front of the venue...walek right in as second song was starting.

For that price, I would give it a try.

I wish this ol' rust bucket was still around. My mistake was not getting a beater for around town driving and saving the miles for the backcountry. Had 217,000 on it. 7 foot bed.

The truck tent worked out well.

Cool.  Was it easy to set up?   Nice truck.

no offense jaz but that looks quite ridiculous.

Hahaaaaaaa too fucking funny,  jaz were you at The Summit at Indian Lookout ? Saw a rig like that, watching em getting in and out was some serious fun. The shit folks think of, but hey no ticks on you hahaaaa

None taken, jr.  No snakes either.

Great.  Now I see nothing but truck tent advertisements fed to me today cheeky
