A Trove of Original Counterculture Literature

Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll - London style.

OZ magazine issues from Jan 67 to 73, downloadable as PDFs. A fascinating snapshot of times long gone.

Somewhat like The Oracle and early Rolling Stone and 60s Playboy and Freak Bros comics all stewed into an English periodical designed by a tripping Fillmore poster artist.  -- unconventional graphics, "taboo subjects," music reviews, nudity, and counterculture journalism.

I've only scratched the surface of two issues looking for Dead-related stuff -- it could take months to peruse it all. Not only is it worth it to check out for nostalgia's sake, but there are some nuggets of info/insight that may be pertinent today.

Enjoy the weekend -- it was in the 70s here Wed, snow flurries last night...weird

Thank you.

I will offer this link to the Great Speckled Bird archive,  the South's answer to the Berkeley Barb and Village Voice.  The picture of beardless, tye dye clad Garcia in front of an Allman Brothers cabinet comes from ne of the issues.  Also the cover shot of Duane Allman wearing an STP shirt, meaning neither the drug nor the motor honey.  Save the Park if you were peaceful hippie and Stop the Police if you were a bit more woke.
