It was an honor to play with all of these fine musicians in tribute to my dear friend and baba, Bernie Worrell. This was the last time I got to see Bernie and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to tell hom one more time that I love him, and also to shake it up with him once more.

He was pretty amazing. One of those very few musicians that really created a “new sound” and seriously changed genres. Hip Hop wouldn’t be the same without Bernie.

He lived in New Jersey down
He lived in New Jersey down the road from an old friend's bar for the last number of years of his life. He used to come down to the bar frequently and was a super nice guy. He loved all of the kids running around (it was a family owned place that had a huge chunk of land along a river). Saw him quite a few times.. one of my favs was many years ago at the wetlands in nyc.
