Trey giving free music lessons

I've been trying to catch those on Instagram and also meant to mention it to Viva gang, so thanks!

I can envision him as a music teacher with middle schoolers... the cool dude.

...but who is going to teach Phish how to write better songs/lyrics?

Need to check these out.

"But who is going to teach Phish how to write better songs/lyrics?"

This. I mean I try, But............

I've seen a little of it. I think it's great.

Open your mind and dig a little. I used to think similarly but then I actually listened to the massive catalogue and saw the light. Yep. they don't have a Robert Hunter, but there are many, many amazing songs and lyrics.  Not to mention, you've basically got 4 virtuoso's in the band!

I agree with all that, starkdar, but I don't find their music enjoyable.  I don't think it has anything to do with opening my mind

^ditto. Very fine musicians that seem stuck in a rut of a band with shitty songs/lyrics. I have seen them live at least 6-8 times and have tried listening to recordings but very quickly get bored as it sounds super repetitive and dumbed down. Just my own experience and opinion. Plenty of people see it differently and that is awesome too. I would be quite interested in seeing TAB though.

I attended about 25 shows between 1989 and 1998, including some of what are considered top shelf historic shows, never ending tweezers, island tour, cliff ball, etc so it's not like I didn't try.

It's beginning to grate.

To each his/her own!  Give TAB a try, absolutely nothing like Phish, but another mind-blowing band for sure.  Hope you like to gig down!
