A bronze chest filled with gold, jewels, and other valuables worth more than $1 million and hidden a decade ago somewhere in the Rocky Mountain wilderness has been found, according to a famed art and antiquities collector who created the treasure hunt.
Forrest Fenn, 89, told the Santa Fe New Mexican on Sunday that a man who did not want his name released — but was from “back East” — located the chest a few days ago and the discovery was confirmed by a photograph the man sent him.

I read his clues. Most likely
I read his clues. Most likely off Marble Canyon in AZ.
Hopefully the person who found it will reveal some answers, unless Fenn does.
Actually, it's wasn't "most likely" there...I know nothing.

I'd followed this off and on
I'd followed this off and on for the past few years. There'd been a few people that died looking for it. He hasn't said where it was found yet but most people assumed it was hid around Yellowstone National Park.
I wouldn't want my name announced either. If it was on private property or a park like Yellowstone or Glacier there'd probably be some legal obstacles to jump through. Plus so many people were looking were religiously looking for this damn thing his life could be in danger.
This was the poem that was supposed to lead to the treasure:
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

He gave some follow up clues, as well:
Not in AZ or CO, not in a mine, not under an old outhouse.

Forest Fenn is most likely a grave robbing huckster self promoter and the native people who know him believe the treasure, if genuine, is cursed, having been looted from sacred sites over decades.
There seems to be a belief that the treasure wasn't actually found according to @tonydokoupil, Katy Tur's husband, who has been following Fenn's antics since 2012.

I suspect the finder sold it
I suspect the finder sold it back to Fenn and I would've done the same. I wouldn't know how the fuck to auction that stuff off, and you wash your hands of any potential legal troubles if it was found on federal land. Plus you can stay anonymous. And there was so many loons involved with this search you wouldn't want your name attached to it. There's already lawsuits being filed over people allegedly having their computers hacked and their ideas stolen. No thanks to dealing with that bullshit.
Maybe he'll hide it again.

"Earlier this year, antiquities collector Forrest Fenn confirmed the discovery of the bronze chest he hid in the Rocky Mountains more than a decade ago.
Now, Jack Stuef - a 32-year-old from Michigan - has revealed himself as its finder."
