Tough TOUGH beat for my guys.. the TampaBay Lightning...

Forums:

Won the presidents trophy, scored the #1 overall seed, & tied the record for most wins/points in a season..

Only to get promptly swept & embarrassed by the #8 seed Columbus Bluejackets who no doubt played a helluva series as a confident fearless well-coached & truly Connected hockey squad.

First team in NHL history to have the most points (#1 overall seed) & be cleanSWEPT in the First freakin' round...

Ooooffffff... That is Rough boys...

Wonder what's goin' through Cooper's head right about now

Tough TOUGH look for the Bolts...

Kinda reminds me of a few years back when the #1 seed Hawks got Swept out of the first round by the up & coming wildcard Nashville Preds...

Yeah, what a shock. When they were up 3-0 in the 1st period of game one, I imagine no one had this outcome in mind.

I've been thinking of Florida Zoner Earl while this has been going on. My condolences.

But my Islanders moved on. Whupped Pittsburgh pretty good, silencing the big guns. It'll be interesting to see how far they get.

Maybe it's time to invigorate the NHL thread in the Sports folder.

Hard to believe they were swept.

They were horrible 5 on 5 all year, glad they got the boot.

Seems like the state of Ohio has some teams that like to send home some regular season history making teams.

Steve Yzerman coming home

My buddy Anthony works all of their home games said....

"Unfortunately with the completion of the load-out today of the playoff projection, lasers, and lighting gear, marks the last day of 2018~2019 hockey season for some us... Thank you Tampa Bay Lightning for the most excellent and exciting regular season to date and an even bigger thank you to the Lightning fans who attend the games and/or support the team because the energy you generate and level of fun you add to the games, KICKS~ICE and is unmatched compared to any other team's fan base as many of my colleagues would agree... The Stanley Cup will be ours next year!!!"

Columbus has a major league team?

You DO have to give it to the Lightning fans in the sense that they do come out to support their hockey team. They sell out every game with over 19,000 in attendance every night.

Shockingly, their baseball team only drew 14,000 people a night last season.(Granted the stadium is a piece of shit, even Oakland laughs at them).

Better luck next season ‘Ning!!!

>>>!Columbus has a major league team?

Yes. Three actually. The Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL), The Columbus Crew (MLS) and The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team is also known to pay their players.

Maybe 2.5?

didn't realize Columbus was that big (32nd on the list below), once again the zone led me to learning.

I went to the last Caps game in Tampa and the bolts looked damn good and beat the Caps, also got to see Ovechkin score two goals that night. Game days are great in Tampa, not only does it sell out but they also have a huge screen right in front of the arena and they show the games live, and a few hundred will show up on their lounge chairs to watch the game for free, they also have a nice bar set up outside to accommodate those watching outside. One of the best run organizations in sports imo

but damn it man

The organist for the CBJ used to play keys in my band and still sits in

several times a year. Go Nate!

I’m not a hockey fan, but I have watched more in the last week than all time before.

Go Jackets!

>>>The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team is also known to pay their players<<<

That makes them professional, but not major league.
