Off topic: These enormous D&Co venues don't sell out, right?

Forums:

Thinking about citi field.... which would maybe be one of the most likely to sell out b/c it's Saturday, in NYC, but it's too big for that, isn't it?

Not having seen D&C I don't know what the scene has been like? Just seems impossible to me that they would fill that stadium -- .it's so vast -- (also I don't get why such a huge # of people are willing to go there & sit thru a baseball game but whatev)

[Also, to diverge a little from the first Off Topic, what's the story with two shows at SPAC? I know there's a lot less space inside the venue than there was back in the (good ol') day(s), but it's not too small for D&C, is it?]

But, back to Flushing (hehe flushing, I've loved that name since I was a kid & we often used to visit relatives there) -- So yeah -- some prices are dropping slightly on stubhub already, like below face (not sure how the fees compare, just looking at face vs. face). Or does it fluctuate in some mysterious or unpredictable way? I haven't studied it much at all.

Definitely I want to have tickets in hand (at least the virtual hand) before leaving home for the show. Especially since one friend who's going, has said they would feel devastated if unable to get in. (New fan, young, has never seen the GD or any iteration thereof - I mean, I can relate anyway, that's why I've always arranged my tix beforehand -- but for some reason I just don't feel that way about this show.)

What would be the best strategy, wait & see if they drop the prices more? That's probably safe, right? I don't want to fuck this up -- also don't want to pay a super lot of money or be in the very top row, so where's the balance.

buy day of show if price is the issue.

Went to Citifield about a month back for Mets / Giants game.  The place is Huuuuuge !!

Seats are pretty comfortable anywhere in the Arena.  Somewhere there is a Mets Museum, but I don't know if that's open for concert days.

I like your approach of Stubhub / Cashortrade.org or similar secondary markets.

EddieForg  / EddieFrog is the ticket guru, but he is on leave from VLZ.

You could try that other Phil fan site;  he posts there.

There were people everywhere looking for tickets in Atlanta with few sellers. Most people I talked with never got in.

Lakewood Amphitheater has a capacity of 19000, and every seat and the lawn were full.

In fact, there were an easy 1500 that missed the majority of the first set because they were waiting in one of two lines to pass through security and enter the venue.

Hollywood Bowl (17,500) sold out. Lots of people were still in the security line when the show started there, too. Get in line early if you want to see the whole show.

I believe Shoreline (22,500) sold out at least one of the days.

this is true rickp. but citifield holds 40000+. no problem getting in for this one.

Shoreline - looks full!

Also, Northeast has Fenway, and Spac shows...if last summer was any indication, tickets were plentiful, and cheap on day of etc...so, its a gamble, for sure, but, if it was me....id wait...but, i also dont have a young friend wanting to go to first show stating theyd be devastated if they didnt get in...if i did, then i honestly think it would just be a financial choice to make...buy ahead and spend a little more...or wait, and save a few bucks...if i could afford it, id go ahead and buy now...only because of said friend etc

Scott, you are probably correct if 40,000+ capacity!

The security line may be even worse.

Neither Fenway Park show (there are two), SPAC nor Citifield are sold out.

btw - if someone knows of a stream for tonight - I would like to check in and hear what my wife just had to go see in person.

Shoreline sold out on Saturday. Lots of friends from Oakland were in the parking lot shocked they didn't get in. Half the lawn was empty on Sunday. Two LA shows & two Bay Area shows for me.

2017 Mini Tour MVP goes to Hollywood VIP Hotel Thursday night patio party & sing along. To much fun, bring back the Ukulele player the night manager misses it!

Lots of good advice here. Thank you zonerz heart

Money is sort of an issue, but not insurmountable.... getting to the show is definitely the most important priority.

As it should be.
