Tiger Replica by Doug Irwin

Forums:

I saw Melvin and JGB last night at Winston's OB and the guitarist had a replica of Tiger that was made by Doug Irwin. The tone was spooky and Zack Nugent held his own and was a really nice guy.

I was not aware that Doug Irwin made a Tiger replica .

Good show 10 30pm-1 30am . 2 sets w a half hour break. Only played two Garcia/Hunter songs though Brown Eyed Women and Gomorrah along w the usual, Finders Keepers, Stop That Train, Simple Twist, Breadbox , Let it Rock, Brothers and Sisters, Tangled Up in Blue, Touch I like and 4 or 5 other songs that I can't remember at this moment.

Todays show is at 5pm which is a nice early Sunday evening treat.

How many of these Jerry replica guitars out there? Does anyone know?

Evidently, Irwin heard Nugent and offered to build him a guitar. Zach had to do a Kickstarter to come up with the $10k to buy it.

That kid fucking rocks! I saw him last weekend at a local bar, playing acoustic for about 75 people. He's by far my favorite of all the Jerry's out there.

Jerry clones need tiger/wolf replicas to fit the part nowadays. Can't be a real GD/Jerry related cover band without one.

Zach is my favorite fake Jerry by far.

Stu's axe is elegant.

There is nothing like playing the real deal, and jamming with my buddy Neal.

Great post Peak!!! Hope all is well in your world!

That's a Tom Lieber guitar, Erwin's apprentice. Doug Erwin is dead. Zachs got a beautiful tone but I've never been too impressed by his ability to take jams out there and actually improvise. He's improved though.
