Is there such a thing as "dessert" for breakfast?

Forums:

It's one thing to save one's side of pancakes that came with an omelet for last, but have you ever had a proper dessert for breakfast?

Isn't pie popular for breakfast?

Not my thing, I'm a plain croissant fan.

My mother in law has the sweetest tooth a human can have.

I have seen her (more than once) eat birthday cake at 6am with a coup of coffee.

She smiles at me, knowing I don't have a sweet tooth, and says cake is good anytime.

^ In both instances, aren't both the pie and birthday cake the "main course" for breakfast?

would scones be considered a dessert?

Scones are a mid-afternoon snack, to have with a cup of Earl Gray and a watercress sandwich!

A donut

I had cake for breakfast just the other day. It was an eclipse cake I made for the eclipse (duh), and it wasn't getting any fresher.

If you're gonna have a carb breakfast it doesn't really matter if it's pancakes, cereal, french toast, a donut, scones, pie, or cake.
