Is there a Perkins in your area?

Forums:

Closest one to me is 7 hours away in Ponca City, OK.

Yeah Derf Perkins.

.

Yes, tried it once.

Do any of these chains still serve real sausage anymore?

Thanks, Hall, I have no idea what a Perkins is other than Marlin.

Wild Kingdom, can you guess?

Just checked.  Closest one is in Bullhead Arizona.  366 miles away.

We got a Gott's.

Closest one is in Ellensburg, Washington:

For chain diners, we have Shari's, Elmer's, and Denny's around here.

None near me at all.

I haven’t eaten at one in years, but there are 2 close to me. With all the great diners in NJ, a chain restaurant just doesn’t appeal to me, especially for breakfast.

I'm in Ellensburg and yes it's still here and does a booming biz right off the interstate. I know the owner and they do a great job service-wise and it's clean and kept up etc but about as uninteresting as it gets. File under safe but sorry. There's a new Pancake House right there too.. yet a full notch lower. Eat in town...

This is the only Perkins I'm aware of or care about.

Dude's a beast, and it was a blast to see & hear him and Phil rip it up together earlier this year.

That's a rhythm section I never thought I'd see.

There were two Perkins we would go to at night while in our teens (a place to hang out outside of home, before we could go to bars------there was a bowling ally next door to one of them).

They were in Pittsford and Perinton, two towns just outside Rochester, NY.

Looking at the link Ken posted, they are both gone now.

Where I live in Marin, the last 24 hour restaurant in the county, Denny's, closed 5 years ago.

Sign of the times.

I looked them up.  There is one 10-12 miles away.  I actually set foot in there a few years back (near the Auto Parts Shoppe)  but did not eat their stuff.

Used to be called 'Perkins Cake & Steak'.

Thing about chains like Perkins,  or IHOP,  or etc. is that they use Krap ingredients like Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil and GMO flour.

I don't feed that stuff to my Dog or me.  We like healthy Food.  Hüsky had some poached Salmon and Sushi Rice mixed with his kibble & Goat for dinner today.  The Goat is freeze-dried stuff made from USDA-grade Goat.
