Come eat, drink, shop for charity, and take home a little piece of history that brings you joy!

heart I love Phil. This thing sounds like a lot of work for people who work there but it's a really beautiful idea. Supporting the Canal Alliance is a meaningful empathetic gesture; Canal Alliance wants to make it as easy as possible for clients to find community services to help them and those affected by Covid-19. It has been around for a much longer than COVID-19, and all of its work has been meaningful.

I just looked up Ritter House/Center and its Mission is to help prevent and resolve homelessness and improve the health and well-being of individuals and families who are homeless or low income by providing a range of culturally sensitive, easily accessible, high quality medical care and social services.

how much for the boat?

I think I read that the boat is going to a pre-school.

How much for the left hand monkeywrench?

This sale is mostly restaurant stuff. The pictures that were on the walls belonged to the Lesh family and were packed up for them. All music related equipment is being repurposed elsewhere.

I'll be brining the truck to pick up the Grate Room's Myer Sound Constellation sound system and repurposing it to my den.  Come on over

I'm going to swing by to see the old clubhouse one last time.....

^I'm hoping to do the same thing.

I'm going to be in SF for a show on Saturday, so I may head up early and stop by the ol' place.

I mean, who doesn't need another industrial level deep fryer in their kitchen??

Will Phil be playing?

Pete posted in the status thread that Phil will not be playing.

Might have to pop in to see what's Shakin'.

Maybe pick up some token keepsake.

See a phriend or two.

Wondering what "live music" could mean.

Evidently not Phil. Hmmmmm

When does the bidding on the dishwasher/valet/drummer begin?

.....maybe there will be an auction for the very chair that Ross "MF" James actually sat in!!

Swing & a miss.....STRIKE 2

java_dave

Did you hear that?  Was that a cockroach?

Sounds like a potential Zoner gathering to me!
Ill be there at gates, LOL.

I'll be there in spirit... How much for Pete?  Terry?  Kath?  and the rest???

  >>>>>Terry?  Kath?

Chicago's late, great guitar slinger.

Just to be clear with everyone, there will be no memorabilia, Pictures, or music equipment. Phil will not be playing. If there is music it will most likely be acoustic. The sound gear is gone and there are no engineers to work it.  Xmas decorations, arts and crafts stuff some furniture, pillows, and restaurant stuff. Not to dissuade you from coming but I'm getting a lot of messages about what people would like and that stuff is just not there anymore. Come and see me, I'll be where I'm always at, the gate. This is it guys, after this weekend I'll have a few more days cleaning up then out go the lights.

Thanks for the info, Pete

Sounds more like a placid wake than a Party.

No Early Birds

Throw down the tarps and hoodies!

Unbroken Toaster Oven

Box Of Knives

Pride Of Dried Arugula

Thanks Pete... I'm not buying anything... just want to shoot last-day pics, especially one of you at the gate if that's ok with you.

I am hoping to swing by Sunday afternoon.  Going to dinner then Achilles Wheel at the Sweetwater.

So is the knife used to chop up those grilled cheese sandwiches available?

too bad i never got a sticker.

Don't feel too bad, Turtle. I made it to the Beach Park, but never set foot inside the Grate Room.

Sounds pretty much like a non event now.

Guess I'll be happy with all the merch, music and memories i have up to now.

Adios TXR- it was super fun while it lasted.

Thx Phil and all your phriends, I'll  miss you.

Pete- thank you for all the kindness at the door.

Looks like the weather will be sunny and cool.

I'm hoping to stop by to see Pete, LLOLLO, and any other dear friends.  Soak up the location.  If the event sucks, well I suppose I'll just head west to Mt. Tam, Stinson, Headlands, or wherever.

Mark: I'm seriously considering seeing you at the Sweetwater on Sunday ever.  Not sure if that's a gig that will sell out before I arrive.

 If the event sucks...

When was the last time a garage sale didn't suck?

Good point.

Pete, any merch left? T-shirts etc?

Ah, common'.

It's just a yard sale, a bunch of junk and random stuff, but it's in a lovely spot, they'll have someone playing some music and there will be a bar.

How could that suck?

"It's not a Q yard sale maaan, it's a DISHWASHER yard sale!!!"

Zoners are even picky about their garage sales.

Go figure.

Not all garage sales are created equal.

Hell yes, I've been to many garage/yard/ house sales that didn't suck!

And this one is selling shit from a venture that Phil fucking Lesh of the Grateful Dead owned!

And there is a bar! If I wasn't in the middle of family matters (mom is here from NY), I'd come over and hobnob with

you folks.
Enjoy. It was a lot of fun.

Good luck everyone

Yes Woz, some merch will be available. I'm not clear on what they will be bringing out.

reporting in!   They are blocking entrance to TXR parking lot... go past the marina and turn left onto Front Street for street parking.
No, I did not drop Pete's name to try and get in the lot... ;)

Mark Karan and Mookie Siegel playing an acoustic and keyboard duet set on the outdoor stage until 4pm.

Apparently tomorrow is Stu and Lebo, acoustic duet, same time frame, noon to 4.

No idea if this is true or not, but there's a post on Facebook with a picture of a guy who was buying things at the garage sale and then taking them outside and selling them. That's all I know and I actually don't even know that, it's just what I saw on Facebook.

Haha that's hilarious if true

and hoodies! <<<<

how will we know for sure the hoodies for sale were actually put on the floor to save space and not simply "knock offs"?

score of the sale was the dancing terrapin snow globe

I don't know- the guy with the milk crates looks pretty happy.

A dancing terrapin snow globe???   Wowzer!!!

(that's better than a stuffed armadillo!)

The snow globe is such a score, and matches the hat very nicely.

I realized I would've liked a white and green mug to match the one I have but I assumed there would be nothing that good as part of the sale.

^Is that Tom Hanks?

No.

I'll keep an eye out for that mug.  My wife bought me one years ago and it was my favorite. I wore it down to the point that it became a completely white mug.

Thank you, John. So you're going back, eh? Wish I were there to see all of you, if nothing else

anybody going i will electronically spend up to $100 for anything from there

please and thank you?

this all makes me so sad

You were missed, Judit!

Get your tissue box handy --

Many there today received a cool little program-style handout with this cover.... The text inside is below... it's a beautiful thing.

Always begin with thank you. It doesn't matter if you got more or less than you wanted, it matters that you were here.
That you received, that you gave, that you danced, that you sang, that you were a part of the energy that made this amazing space possible.
That this special energy became a part of what makes you shine.

Our first word, our first thought, is grateful. Grateful for the sounds that elevate a stage into a portal.
For the words that elevate a crowd into a tribe. Grateful for the songs that are big enough for every voice to join, reflecting a world view where everyone's welcome to participate.
Grateful to know that we all play a part in making our scene thrive.
That it matters less whether you're on the stage, in the crowd, on the lot, behind the bar, or at the door than it does that you made the effort to be here in your brightest guise.
Grateful to feel, deep down, that it's the care, the devotion, the energy, the connection that surges from our hearts and minds that creates the magic we share here.

The grateful always carries more weight than the dead.
It's the folks who lack the curiosity or compassion to look deeper than the surface who fixate on our skulls and bears and saucer eyes, only seeing death.
These poor souls utterly fail the acid test.
Looking at the bummers, the adversity, the scares, and the endings -- taking those things deeply into your heart and sticking around anyway -- that's what matters.
If you can take the darkness, then you can carry the light. Then you've passed the acid test, and you're on the golden road.

Walking that road is walking in gratitude. That's why we're all here today, spending one last bit of time at Beach Park.
We're thankful that we got to be a part of this vibrant oasis of fellowship and song.
We're thankful to the amazing crew that makes us feel welcome every single time we walk into the lot.
We're thankful for the musicians who open our hearts and sprits with their talent.
We're thankful for the people standing at our sides, making us feel welcome, making us feel whole.

We're so grateful because there's almost nothing like the electricity of this space.
Coming to Terrapin Crossroads isn't so much like being on the bus as it is hanging at the bus depot.
It's a kind of psychedelic version of the Star Wars cantina, but better, because when we're all zipping in and out of hyperspace we've got no need for starships.
Our minds, our hearts, our collective spirit -- that's what forms the portal.

This kind of community is rare, and while this space may be over, the energy that draws us together endures.
This is the kind of place where a stranger can walk up and be swept into instant friendships. This isn't a unique story here, it's the norm.
The community that's taken shape on this little plot of land elevated what may otherwise look like a hippie party at a fish house into a sonic cathedral built on a foundation of mutual care.

Spaces that promise connection among people of different generations, ethnicities, economics, politics, and professions are exceedingly hard to find.
Though we're mourning these stomping grounds, we should delebrate the bonds that bring us here.
This is what our country, what our culture, what our world, needs more of.

Everybody reading this is going to have a different story about what made Terrapin Crossroads so important to them, and I want to hear every single one.
I'd imagine that the common theme that'll run through all those tales will be that this is a place where you felt like you belonged.
We're gonna miss it, and we're gonna miss seeing all the people who made it possible as often as we did when it was up and running.
But the story isn't over if we take [what] this space animated inside of us and put it out into the world in the best ways that we can.

Thank you. Yes, you, the person reading this, for ma,ing this place suh hallowed ground.
Thank you for bringing your brightest self, your kindest smile, your honest care and your sincere delight.
Thank you for bringing your talent and your goodness.
Nobody else has exactly what yu provide, and it's been such a generous privilege to enjoy your company while we've danced together in this space.

Thank you for making my life better.
Thank you for making me feel like a part of something bigger than an affection for a kind of music or a sort of vibe.
Thank you for making me feel like part of a tribe, like part of a family, like part of a community united by kindness as a guiding principle.

Thank you for proving that goodness exists, and that we all carry the light, even the strangest of us, if you look at things right.

See you all down the road.

We want to hear them!

... and from me to Bay Area Zoners, thank you for your kindness and community since I've moved to the area.

^Amen to that, sister!

I saw those handouts being handed out, but didn't receive one.  Thanks for sharing.  It generally sums up the Terrapin Crossroads experience for me.  As much as words can tell.

BTW: The music that Mark and Mookie played for us today was just about perfect for the occasion.  Fantastically performed and engaging enough for dancing, while providing enough sonic space to allow people to reconnect with each other.  Some for the first time in years.

I think that I'm going to return tomorrow, just one more time.

Thanks for posting Llollo.  Beautiful.  Thx for music update...

In the end, it might be just a little hippie party at a fish house.

Nothin' wrong with that.

871 people came through the door.

Nice to hear it worked well for reconnection setting!

Yeah, I liked what I heard / saw on FB stream (although the guy in the front row seemed slightly ruffled at camera setup).  I haven't really had a chance to pay that close attention to Mookie, and really liked what I heard.  Also, not seeing Mark up close for quite some time after seeing him quite a bunch with Ratdog, it was good to see him again.  But more to your point, yeah, I also noticed how they had a great interplay that wasn't either underwhelming or over the top with a full band setup.  Guitar and keys aren't necessarily a common duo either.  The way they carried the music as a duo kinda reminded me of seeing Jerry Joseph and Wally Ingram  (albeit guitar + drums).

the maker was sick

Enjoy every Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

Some great music being played there today

Thanks to Brian, Happy Cat, for all the wonderful videos / tunes from Terrapin Crossroads beginning.  And your last video from yesterday is a masterpiece (pics are really cool too).  Thanks for all your hard work.  You too made TXR special for all to hear and see.  Keep streaming HC...

And a huge thanks to Pete, Terry, Christina, John, Molly and all the rest.  Thank you all sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!

It was a good time yesterday at TXR yesterday with three great sets from Stu, Mookie, Reed and Lebo. A bittersweet ending to a wonderful 10 year run....

I was lucky enough to catch the last hour, or most of it anyway.  Third and final time I said goodby to the best little clubhouse ever.

Then I had a wonderful dinner at La Ginestra in Mill Valley and caught a superb Achilles Wheel show at the Sweetwater.

Should have gone, Johnny.

I love dining at La G's! I bet Achilles Wheel was a good show too!

Both were great.

Hey MarkD it was great that you made it, good to see you there.

All -- I created a Google album of pics and videos from both days: https://photos.app.goo.gl/of8VELEC986dygvR6

Good job Llollo. And great to see you also.

Aw, that looks like a nice farewell for the working stiffs.

I almost motivated to get up there yesterday, but couldn't quite muster the energy.

That's OK, I was there enough, when it counted most.

And the beat goes on.

Johnny made it back on Sunday... :).  In time for set three.

Really beautiful day at the clubhouse.  Fun music, strange feeling that sense of transition. We'll all miss that place.  Now how do you add photos again?!? ;)

MarkD and LLOLLO, I wish I had joined you last night.  Won't make the same mistake again (I hope).

Glad that you enjoyed the gig.

Hey Salvador!  I don't think that I saw you.

It's been a long time. Next time, make sure you say, "Hi."

If you did, then shame on me (I'll blame it on my declining cognitive abilities).

What a wonderfully powerful emotional reunion and farewell.

Love is real. heart

Wow, what a powerful 3-set fun time at TXR.  Brian, thanks again for making stream.  Totally enjoyed watching.  Llollo and Woz: looks like you guys had a blast, good for you.  And that final staff bow, what a sentimental moment here, the best of the best.  Thx to all...............

Mark/Mookie audio available on LMA for those who can't watch or don't click on FaceBag links.

When it's done, I'll see if the Stu/Lebo sets are there.
