Damned link. Grrrr!   https://www.koto.org/

Didn't want to let me edit it. Tried a few times before time ran out. Sorry.

>> Sorry

Don't sweat it. No one is reading this anyway.

I’m reading it. And it seems like you did too, ateix.

Thanks, Slickrock.

Did there used to be a pick in memory of zoner jjwood at this festival. Is that still happening?

Not sure about a pick. I'm sure he'll be toasted and remembered by his crew. I'm guessing he stayed in Town Park.

Hey slickrock, we're Targhee bluegrass bound this year, any chance you're going?  Been a long time since I've been back there, very stoked.

Hope this Peter Rowan set is better than the one we saw a couple weeks ago with this same band.  It was rough, Rowan not at his best and it seemed like they hadn't played together much.  Great concept though, full on Tejano band goes great with Rowan's ethos, but the execution wasn't there yet.  However, they are all pros and if they've had the chance to play together enough and it has gelled, it could be great.

It's a big return for Sam Bush after contending with some serious health issues.

Slickrock, thanks for the pictures of John.  He was great guy and friend of mine going way back. I guess this thread reminded me of him.

Thanks for the reminder be che king in from France....

You're welcome, China-Rider. He was a great guy. I got to hang with John for a bit at Targhee one year and always enjoyed his posts and e-mails.

He had a ton of friends in the Colorado bluegrass scene and knew and played with some mighty fine pickers. Though the ending is sad, the "Anawhack" story is a bitchin' way to go out.

Yes Alias, planning on Targhee. Got my tix. I'll respond to your e-mail within a few days. Swamped.

The Utah Arts Fest is this weekend and I'm doin' a day-and-a-half songwriting class with Christine Lavin Friday and Sat. Doing some emceeing on Sunday.

And yeah Mars, hope Sam is feeling well and I hope he's smart enough to take it easy.

Sam seemed to be feeling well and looked to be his old self ... hopefully it's the case from where he's standing.

On the other hand, I did notice how Rowan seemed a little bit slower & was seated half the time for his set .... moving very slowly with assistance off the stage.

Bummed they are not broadcasting Tim O'Brien's set.

Tim sounded great, I love Rachel’s voice in Lake Street Dive- on now.

Belá Fleck and the Flecktones > GSBG later

Sounds like the Saturday weather is terrible. Rain, 50 for the high, and 26 for the low tonight with possible (probable) snow. Brrrr. Too bad.

Hang in there festivarians!

Yeah, trying to figure out a jacket strategy as we speak ... it's going to be a bit of a haul today.  Wasn't going to go until later, but decided to go see yonder in a couple hours in light of the news about Jeff {{{{ vibes }}}}

News about Jeff?

Adios. Off to the Utah Arts Fest for today.

Jeff Austin’s Facebook message:

My friends… due to a to a medical emergency I am unfortunately unable to play my sets next week at ROMP music festival, Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival, and Smoky Run Music Festival. Thanks for your understanding and continued support.

Before starting Half Moon Rising, Yonder asked for all to pray, etc for Jeff.  Made me think something serious is going on with Jeff.

Jeff’s set at Rockygrass last year was the highlight of the festival for me.

Dude on the Phish board posted a review of Jeff's show last week and said he was a fucking mess. A lot of rumors last night and earlier today that he died, but apparently he's hanging on.

Hope he's alright and get's well. That's the main thing.

He's slated for Targhee Bluegrass Fest in August. No mention of that one so hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Seems to be a lot of speculation.  Hope he finds peace.

Damn, I LOVE Brandi Carlile. Got back from our local arts fest in time to catch much of her set.
