Tedeschi Trucks Band 10/25/25

Forums:

So it was night two for us at the St. Augustine Amp and the tour closer.  My wife and I arrive unusually late for us and we get on the back of the line about 10 minutes before show time.   My wife notices a couple in front of us and strikes up a conversation by saying "nice shirt" to no one in particular but directed towards the guy in front of us wearing a very cool handmade shirt with Steal Your Faces on it.  He turns around and says thank you, I bought it here in the lot at a Billy Strings show.  We continue talking until we get to security and it suddenly hits me - I know this guy!  I look him in the eye and say "Philzone"!  His face widens with a little disbelief and amusement.  It was Portland Ken and his wife and we did in fact meet before at that Billy Strings show!  So funny how a shirt, the love of music and a website can connect people!  Show was outstanding, we had a great time and I hope Ken and his wife did too.

If I had known there were going to be other Zoners (don't recall seeing any previous posts) at both shows I would have suggested a parking lot meet up, as we were there tailgating from about 4pm on both nights. Two excellent shows and the weather was fabulous. A most delicious band with 12 extremely talented performers. So much fun.

Ha!  That was a trip bumping into you guys in line like that.  And those shows were amazing.   Walk on Guilded Splinters and Sugaree were the highlights, along with the times everyone left the stage except for Derek, the bass player, keyboard dude, and drummers and they laid down the sick jams.  Cumulatively, those two shows were the second best shows we have seen all year (next to Trey solo in Orlando) and the band is just oozing in raw talent and musicianship.

We are back in town visiting the folks for two weeks and will be seeing Frampton tomorrow night and going up to Savannah on Halloween.  Thankfully, my brother in law can watch the dog.

I love their versions of derek and the dominos.  Layla revisited at Lockn was probably the best live music that year.  Amazing.
